Senku's twin sister(book 1)

Mission Start

The seven days following my arrival had gone the same during training. In Ukyo's training, I had finally gotten about as good as him so now I can hit moving targets. And in Hyoga's, I kept on getting closer to getting him and I built up some endurance.
But, today is the day that Gen and I leave to see if Senku is alive or not. After breakfast, Gen came and told me that it was time to go. We walked out of the camp and I saw Ukyo doing his usual lookout duty. I waved to him and he waved back. After we were a good ways away I started talking.

"So, how long will it take to get there?" I asked Gen.

"About 2 days."

"So, we get to sleep away from camp?"

"Well, we're not going to be going back there to sleep." Gen looked at me like I was an idiot.

"Ya, ya. I know it was a stupid question. But, I've never camped outside before, well, you know, besides the camp."

"...So, Shuvi. Do you know Senku?"

"Hmm? We went to school together. And he would help me with my Science work since I wasn't all that good with Science unless it had Math involved."

"So, you two were friends?"

"Well, I wouldn't really say 'friends.' More like... Science buddies." I wasn't completely telling the truth but I also wasn't lying.

"Oh, Ok."

"Man, I wish we still had candy and Cola~"

"I know right! I was a Cola man myself."

"Wow! I didn't know that the famous Asagiri Gen liked Cola."

"Ya, well, I guess in the Tsukasa Empire we won't ever get any of that stuff."

"What~ Does he hate Science or something?"

"To put it bluntly, yes."

"But Science is so much fun! And besides, we technically use Science every day."

"How so?"

"Well, what do you think cooking is? Magic?"

"That is a type of Science isn't it?"

"Well, yeah..." It was my turn to look at him like he was an idiot.

"Well, at the pace we're going we should be there by nightfall. But we'll still be camping out."

"Yeah... I figured as much."

We walked until it was almost night then we started setting up camp for the night. Well, he started setting up while I went to go get some food. I ended up finding a deer. I shot it with an arrow straight to the heart. 'The things you learn from video games and anime.' I thought to myself since Ukyo didn't really teach me how to hunt. 

"Hey, Gen! We're gonna have a feast tonight!" I dragged the deer over and his jaw dropped when he saw it.

"Wow, Shuvi! I didn't think Ukyo would teach you to hunt too!"

"He didn't. I just knew where to shoot because of video games." I smiled and scratched the back of my head.

"So you're a math nerd and a gamer huh?"

"I'm also an Otaku. And I was lazy, and was a near shut-in."

"I honestly didn't think that you would be a near shut-in since you're pretty athletic and all..."

"Well, I guess another special skill I have is adaptation then! And you know what? I actually had a feeling in the back of my mind that there would be an apocalypse." I sat down and started skinning and gutting the deer.
