Adventures in Candor: (Book 1) The Lost Queen

Chapter 12: Elairos trainning.

   Anna woke up, seeing that Zozo had already changed. She hadn't seen much of Neraida, but then again, she wasn't really looking. Today was her and Zozo's first trainning session.

   Aris knocked on the door before entering. "Oh! You're awake, I just came to wake you, Zozo's downstairs eating, as usual, better come down and eat. Trainer Sofos is going to take you to the arena to train," He said before closing the door. Anna got dressed and headed to the kitchen. Zozo was polishing his sword, preparing for a battle. When he saw Anna, his eyes lit up, though he was trying hard not to show it.

Anna smiled at him before settling down and eating breakfast. After breakfast, Anna began wondering. "Do you guys celebrate holidays here?" She asked.

"Of course! Just not nearly as many. My personal favorite, Christmas, as you call it, is actually just renamed as Erinilus. Its a simply peaceful holiday. No harm, throughout any realm." Aris explained. "There are many others, but im sure you can learn about that later. Because-"

  A  muscular being, a battled man came in. His left eye covered in a deep red scar.

   "Are these the two you were talking about?" The man said.

   "Yes, Sofos, that's my daughter and her elairos." Aris spoke proudly.

    "That's the little baby i held 13 human years ago? That, That is Anna? My niece?" Sofos said.

      "Yes, she has grown up so fast. Hasn't she?" Aris said proudly placing his hand on Anna's shoulder.

   "She looks so much like her mother.." Sofos said walking over to her with a hug. Anna became slightly nervous, who was he? Trainer Sofos, was her Uncle?

    Anna hugged him awkwardly. Zozo started to get annoyed, Sofos seemed to notice this. He backed off and went to hug his brother. Anna went to Zozo hugging him tightly.

    "Alright, family reunion is over. We have some work to discuss." Sofos said seriously. "Take a seat." Anna sat down next to Zozo on the living room couch.

       "What do you-?" Anna said sheepishly.

     "Have you heard the tale about the Mari-lyn sisters? They were the first Elairosi. Twin siblings. At first they grew up normally, they were close and did everything together. They lived for each other. Though, as time went on, people started harassing them for being siblings, and elairos. Because, they didn't understand that elarios didn't always mean a couple. It could be best friend, protector, couple, or sibling. Depending on the relationship they bonded to. Though Mari fell in love with someone else, and began caring what people thoughts to please him. Lyn didn't care as much. On their sixteenth birthday, they were gifted the power to merge into the same body, allowing them to share each others strength. But sadly, also their memories. It turned out that Lyn had been asked out by the guy Mari loved, even though she rejected him, Mari grew jealous, which corrupted their transformation. When they tried to escape, they became conjoined at shoulder. Everyone called them Marilyn, but Mari hated lyn so much one night, she decided to cut herself free. Not knowing, by doing this, it would kill off lyn while she was sleeping. After she was free, she gained her body back. But lost her sister. The world became dark for her, no longer did she have her elairos, and all she could remember was that she killed her. Shadows became cast on the walls, pictures of lyn shattered on the floor. Mari was happy untill she saw her old best friend kissing the boy she loved. She remembered that lyn didn't except the confession, and instead chose to keep her sister. Pain set in to Mari. The creators cursed her with the ability to live without her elarios. Soon it was like she never existed, Mari would have given anything to get her back, but it was too late. Lyn was just a memory of what she could have had.

     We tell her story, we tell her tale so that Mari, and everyone else could realize what someone means to you. What can happen if you let anger and jealousy get between a partnership. Your elairos is not just a partner, but another side of you. Someone who you must put all your trust in. Someone who you would protect and care for.  They are the one person who gives you light when you are in the dark alone. They, will always be there. Even when they are not with you, you can feel them. You become in
sync from the heart, to the soul. Only then, can you truly become elarios. You two seem like the closest elarios I've seen without training in my life. That means nothing however, if you two are separated. We need to work on that." Sofos lectured.

  Anna looked at Zozo, who held her hand tightly. Almost completely in sync, they said. "Lets do it then"

  "Well, what are we waiting for, then?" Sofos said snapping his fingers taking them to the arena.

Aris stayed home. As they left, he began coughing. His vison faided to black. His time would soon be over, but not today. When it did come, Anna must be ready, she would be the new queen.

      Soon the Elariosi began to learn balance, strength and power over many days and years. They grew up well, and Aris' condition worsened. One year had passed, then two. They celebrated many holidays, But the second prophecy never opened. In one year, it will be Anna's sixteeth birthday. Can the two unleash their true powers? Will the second prophecy, awaken to show the third relm? Only time will tell.
