Asher
"Do you want something to wear? So, you don't have to sleep in your dress," I ask Kate. I can't believe she actually agreed to stay."Yes, that would be nice," she smiles uncomfortably. I walk up to my closet and hand her one of my t-shirts and basketball shorts. "The bathroom is down the hall."
"Thank you."
When she closes the door, I let out the breath I seemed to be holding. When I woke up this morning, I definitely didn't expect that Kate and I would enjoy each other's company nor that she'd stay over.
A second after I changed into some sweatpants, Kate opens the door. Her hair is in a messy bun and my shirt ends mid-thigh, covering the shorts.
I have to admit, she can wear anything and always look amazing.
She puts her dress and phone on the nightstand and starts building up the pillow wall.
"You were really serious about this?" I ask her and the expression on her face looks like she's about to ask me if I was dumb. "Of course. Who knows what you're doing when a girl sleeps next to you."
"Don't worry, you're not my type," I say, trying to convince more myself than her.
"You're right, I'm not jumping at the first opportunity to sleep with you," she fires.
I scoff, "I told you I don't sleep with those girls."
"Mhm," she mumbles and lays down on her side of the bed.
When I pull my shirt above my head she stutters, "What are you doing?!"
"I never sleep with a shirt on," I answer and lay down next to her. When I turn my head to look at her, I see her blushing. "Is there a reason you're blushing like that?"
"I'm not blushing," she scoffs. "Yes, you are. But it's okay, I tend to have this effect on girls," I tease her and she smacks my shoulder.
"So... do I get a good night kiss?" I ask, making her gasp. "No way in hell."
"Such a shame, I'm a good kisser."
"Keep telling yourself that, Stone," she mocks, making me laugh.
"Goodnight Kate."
"Goodnight Asher."

Kate
The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is checking my phone. I've got nine missed calls and six messages from Layla.[Layla] Where are you?
[Layla] Kate???
[Layla] No one has seen you, where the fuck are you?
[Layla] Are you okay?
[Layla] Please pick up, I'm worried.
[Layla] You're not home either, where are you?Shit, I have to go.
I take my dress from the nightstand and try to be as quiet as possible when I go to the bathroom. I quickly change and lay the folded clothes on his desk.
I write him a short note that I had to go and leave the house.
When I open the door to Layla and my dorm, I see her already waiting for me.
"Where the hell were you?!"
"I'm sorry, I stayed at Lewis' and Asher's house," I explain.
She sighs, "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I'm so sorry Layla. I lost track of time and fell asleep," I apologize.
"God, I was so worried something might have happened to you. I could've never forgiven myself if I would've fucked up to protect you."
I smile at her, "I'm a big girl, I can protect myself."
"Yeah, but you're still my best friend," she says and I throw my arms around her. "I love you."
"I love you more."

After I explained everything that has happened with Asher, Layla and I went out to our favorite coffee shop.
"I can't believe you and Asher are trying to be friends, I'm so used to you two fighting all the time," Layla tells me.
"I know. It was weird at first but I really enjoyed the time with him," I admit to her.
"Did you talk to Carter after what happened?" she asks carefully.
"He wanted to talk to me at the party, but I told him off."
"That's my girl," she laughs and I join in.
I don't know what I would do without Layla. She always puts a smile on my face when I think it's not possible.
