We find Ash with his mom enjoying their vacation in Alola. They were having a good time, from Sharpedo riding to hiking on mountains. Ash especially loves the warm climate the region has to offer.
Ash: Yeah!!!!!! Let's go, Sharpedo!!!!!
Sharpedo: Sharpedo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sharpedo dives underwater. Ash was in awe by the many water types in Alola. He saw familiar faces like Seel and Corsola, and Pokémon he never seen before, like WishiWashi and Popplio.
Later on, Ash and Delia were eating at a hotel resturant. It was outside and the night was cool. Hawaiian dancers were performing on the center, showing off themselves and their Pokémon in a way a Pokémon performer should. Ash watched in awe, staring at the dancers as his mind brought back memories.
*flashback begins*
Serena: Here we Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Serena and her Pokémon start performing.
Serena: Braixen, Flamethrower! Sylveon, Fairy Wind! Pancham, Stone Edge!!!!!!!
Serena: alright, lets go!!!!
Ash: Go get them, Serena! Show them who the true Kalos Queen is!!!!!!!
*Flashback ends*
Delia: Ash, what's wrong?
Ash: Oh, nothing. Just a flashback.
Delia: Serena?
Ash: Yeah! It's been so long since I last saw her, and I'm worried she's forgotten me.
Delia: Don't worry! Serena would never forget you!!!!
Delia showed Ash a letter sent to her before the vacation. On it said the following:
Dear Mrs. Ketchum,
When you get the chance, make sure to tell Ash I'm happy and doing well, and give him lots of love. Contest smiles and smooth sailing!
Miss you both,
Serena
Delia: I doubt any of these words would indicate that Dear Serena has forgotten you.
Ash: Thanks, mom.
Delia: Come on, lets dance.
Ash and Delia go on the dance floor and dance to a Alolan slow song.
Later that night Ash and Pikachu were in their bed talking.
Ash: Man, that was some party, wasn't it?
Pikachu: Pika Pikachu! (Yeah, It sure was!)
Ash: You know, Serena should have been here. She would have loved to have an opportunity like this. I just wish I could have been her date at that Pokemon Performers Dance Party. Man, that was fun.
Pikachu: Pika Pikachu! (Sure is! I especially like dancing with eevee!)
Ash: Man, that was the best.
Pikachu: Pika (Sure is!)
Ash: Man, If only there was some way to contact Serena. I haven't heard from her since she left for Hoenn.
Pikachu: Pika Pika Pikachu! (I wouldn't worry about it! You'll find a way to contact her, I know it!!!!!)
Ash: Thanks, buddy! You're such a good friend!
Pikachu: Pikachu. (Anytime Ash, Anytime.)
Meanwhile Serena was wandering throughout Hoenn, trying her hand at every contest opportunity available. She did have her losing streak but was able to get back up and try again.
We find Serena relaxing in the Lavaridge Town hot springs, having just finishing a battle with Flannery, the Lavaridge gym leader. That battle was an expedition match to commemorate the gym's re-opening. Serena has made a massive improvement to her team. Her Pancham evolved into Pangoro and she added Treeko and Bagon to her team.
Serena: Man, What a journey. I'm so proud of you all for making it this far with me.
Everyone cheered and jumped.
Serena: But You guys didn't do it all alone. The support from all of our friends is what pushed us to right now. And now, I'll be much closer to become Kalos Queen.
Serena sighed and looked up at the night sky. It had been several months since she had last seen Ash, Clemont and Bonnie and is missing them now more than ever. She especially misses Ash, whom she had been having feelings for for a very long time. She wished she was able to confess her feelings for him during their Kalos days, but it's far too late now.
Soon Serena was getting ready for bed when suddenly her cell phone rang.
Serena: Hello?
???: Hi Sweetheart. Remember me?
Serena: Who is this?
???: You may have visited me in the USA, whilst you were on a trip there with your mom.
Serena: Wait, James?!?!!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!
James: Bingo!!!!!
Serena: JAMES!!!!!!! OH MY GOD!!!!!!! HOW ARE YOU?!?!!? I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM YOU IN SO LONG!!!!!!!
James: I'm good. I'm calling because I wanna check up on you to see if you're alright.
Serena: Of Course, I'm alright! I'm doing-!
Serena cuts off. She knew where the conversation was going and tears start to well up.
James: Serena? What's wrong?
Serena: I'll have to call you back.
James: Serena, are you OK?
Serena: It's fine. You don't need to say anything. Thank you for calling.
James: You're welcome. Are you sure you're alright?
Serena: Yes, Thank you James. Goodnight.
James: Night. Talk to you soon. *Hangs up*
James: Oh, Dear. I hope Serena's OK. I really, really do!
Serena stares at her phone for a few moments, tears welling up in her face. She then plops on here bed then cries into her pillow. She cried all into the night.
