Words.

Words can be beautiful. They stir emotions in you that make you laugh and feel valued, happy, and even loved. Words can leave a warm feeling in your chest. The happiness that engulfs you when a sentence or a word spoken can be instant. At least that's what I feel. It covers me like a warm blanket and makes me feel al fuzzy inside.

But words can be hurtful too.

Spewing from my tormentor mouths like a prayer.
The words 'dyke' and 'faggot' are common.

Though not only at school but online and even outside on the street. You see it on tv and on the news, but that's rare.

A constant spew of hatred.
Making you feel worthless.
Cold and numb.

They eat you up inside until you believe the terrible things that they are saying. So, you think it's wrong. You think it's wrong. I shouldn't be like this or it's not right to be gay are in your thoughts.

The words cut you like a knife through butter. Sometimes it can be too much; so, you grab a knife and cut too.
To take that pain away.

Homophobia.

A horrible action with horrible consequences.
