Lana's Quirk

Introduction

Lana wasn't like most girls, or most people growing up. For one it took years for her quirk to manifest in a society where most little boys and girls knew from kindergarten. For another, she never had to pee or even use the bathroom. Well, not never, usually about once a week? Even then she never HAD to go so she didn't really keep track. She hadn't known it was weird until she asked her parents why other kids always asked to go to the bathroom. She was shocked to know that they needed to go every day, and when She told them her own bathroom habits her parents got worried and took her to a doctor. They simply didn't believe her when she told them she just never had to go, but an ultrasound showed them she wasn't lying. Lana had the biggest bladder and strongest bowels anyone had ever seen. "you're like the Secretariat of pee holding, we've just never seen anything like it" the doctor had said. While most people could hold maybe half a liter of pee, they speculated Lana could hold at least five, and since she had never come close to her full capacity they didn't even know what the limit was. To Lana's parents it was a relief, and it explained why as a toddler it seemed like she was out of diapers for a few weeks and then would soak the entire bed in nearly a gallon of pee one night in particular. It took Lana longer than many kids to learn bladder control because she just didn't have that 'gotta go' urge anywhere near as often. But, once she figured it out she was a force to be reckoned with. She once spent nearly 20 minutes peeing full force after trying to test her maximum as a 7 year old. That had been two weeks of holding. 

When she was about 9 she discovered the true power in her quirk. She had been at the movies with her little brother ben and he desperately needed to pee. He was wiggling and squirming but refused to leave because it was his favorite animated franchise. He was probably less than a minute away from wetting himself. Mom was chiding him about drinking too much and Lana told him to just hold on a little bit longer until his favorite character was off screen and then he could rush to the bathroom. In a fit of fear and discomfort he wailed, "Lana never has to go,why can't she just hold it for me !?" Lana reached out a comforting hand to his trembling shoulder, about to apologize that she couldn't, but as soon as they touched she felt it, a little extra fullness filling the area beneath her stomach. She was holding his pee for him. His face relaxed and he smiled as sighed broadly making a tranquil "ahh" sound. "Nooo he's peeing himself isn't he, ah God this is so embarrassing" their mom said defeated. "Nope I’m dry" said Ben with a crooked grin "Lana is holding it for me!" At first their mom was shocked and concerned, but Laura told her truthfully that it didn't even phase her, she barely felt the increase in fullness. As the years passed she began to hone her ability and find its limits. She began to practice holding larger and larger volumes until she felt her already enormous capacity double. She became the family holder on long car trips, allowing them to go the entire day without stopping because of her massive capacity. She also discovered the truth about her quirk. She was a mutant-empathizer type. Most people like her could take the pain of others, or lend them strength or something similar, she as far as she knew was the only one specializing in pee holding. This was also around the time she discovered the one limitation of quirks like hers; if the bearer of her quirk type, couldn't handle the burden the were endowed with, and they gave out, the consequences of the burden would come back on both people full force. For instance, if a pain bearer was to pass out from the strain, the person they were alleviating would immediately feel all the pain kept at bay and collapse unconscious. That meant that if Lana ever peed herself, everyone she was holding for would immediately lose control as well and all the suppressed piss would come flooding out into their pants. As she explored her quirk more she learned things; it wasn’t actually the other person’s pee inside of her, it was just sort of the equal ‘cost’ or ‘consequence’ of removing their pee, that welled up inside her. She also realized that she could pee a lot faster than most people, the doctors liked the size of her urethra to a horse or a garden hose with a nozzle; she could evacuate her full bladder much faster than would have been possible with normal girl parts. It also made a very loud sound in the girls bathroom, which she was self conscious about. She also learned the hard way while testing her limits, that if she could not hold her own pee, there was no diaper in the world big enough to absorb her gargantuan capacity. She’d soaked through two of the largest adult size they made in thirty seconds and flooded half the apartment once when she was trying to test her true capacity. She had to hold it all by herself, no matter what happened, that’s just how it had to be.  It was a lot of responsibility, but Lana was pretty confident she could handle it.

Lana had always wanted to be a hero, but she had felt completely useless in that respect for years until she met James. His quirk was gaining power from what he drank, milk gave him strength, juices speed, and different blends of vegetables gave him improved senses or cognitive powers. Theoretically he was as strong as a power quirk and as versatile as almost any other. But it was all predicated on how much he drank, and he had a weak bladder. For a while he had taken to wearing a diaper for his fights so he could just let it out whenever he felt the urge, but that wasn't practical for many reasons. It wasn't dignified as a hero and a soggy diaper flipping about in a fight was a distraction and it slowed him down. Then he met Lana and immediately sparks flew. They complemented each other perfectly in part and personality. It would have been a stretch for them to get into a hero academy separately, but together they were one of the most powerful duos in all of the recruiting class.
