"Iiiii llllike you" Neil said almost in whisper averting his anxious gaze away Avni. She was pushing the books haphazardly inside her sling bag, just now she got issued it from Library. Being hurried heading outside the university gate her eyes rose and she paused.
"What!! what did you just say...kuch sunai nahi diya" she brought her ear a bit closer, made an annoyed expression, showed she couldn't heard him.
"I like you" shutting his eyes he repeated in a single breath being nervous.
In response Avni flinched stepping away him"Yuuou don't...You know that" she stammered gaping at him for awhile to make sure he isn't serious. Next second Avni pulled her hoodie over her head and immediately hastened her steps forward. she couldn't stand there anymore holding her sling tightly over her shoulder she started moving faster the way towards her home away the Library compound.
"Trust me I really like you" Neil hastened his steps following behind few steps ahead Avni.
"!!Really!! all of a sudden what happened to you!!" She halted before saying these words, narrowed her eyes in disbelief and again pulled her steps forward walking away him.
"I know I ignored you" his voice raised being restless behind and that made Avni glued on her feet.
"I ignored you...I was stupid, an idiot... I didn't know that I like you..." He stepped faster reaching close to Avni, he huffed speaking these words. Neil pulled upward his arms and held her shoulder both the sides softly, he stood facing her.
"Achaaa!! then how did you all of a sudden discovered that you like me" maching his gaze upon her Avni gave an sarcastic smile.
"Because all of a sudden you stopped staring at me...and that boy Rohit who the hell is he roaming around you all the time!!" He flared his nose, it was evident he was irked. Avni gave a cold gaze on his hold and then narrowed her eyes seems getting something unbelievable from her side.
"Listen..Rim is a bitch you know that" she moved her orbs carelessly.
"Isn't she your bestie!!" in response Neil narrowed his eyes confusingly.
"All besties are bitch don't you know that!!" Avni replied in an infuriated tone.
"Listen everything was a plan..Rim did it for me to make you jealous...she is an over confident spoiled soul...that's it" She stated in an agitated sigh and then made her way moving away him, lowered her gaze being disgusted by her bestie, as always she has been bored by her plans. But none had anticipated this time unbelievably Rim would be succeeded plotting her plan 'Mission Aloof Neil khanna'.
"Really..then I must say she has done an amazing job" Neil smirked stating in an amused tone.This made walking Avni being halted and flicked her head to his direction behind.
"Wait are you the same Neil khanna who used to ignore me being nonchalant by my presence always whenever I have been around you...is that you...now don't tell me you have twins" she roamed her eyes all over his face to understand if he is in his sense.
"Agreed..I was an asshole" Neil replied back smiling hesitantly and she responded sayiny the word "was!!" Avni grimaced scooting upward a brow.
"Now please don't go away...stare at me...I can't stand that crap around you anymore"
He begged being extremely irritated.
His reply cause her eyes rolled shaking her head, she resumed walking the way to her house.
"Kuch to bol yaar" his voice trailed off begging.
"I kissed him you saw it right!!" She suddenly paused.
Neil kept silent fixing his gaze on her.
"It wasn't an act entirely... I really wanted to divert my mind away you....he is a nice guy and I started liking him.... though the kiss we shared wasn't a passionate one or something like people do in love..it was just a peck, I did because I got fade up of chasing the most insensible person since my adolescent days..." She gritted those last words and said again " being with Rohit I feel nice...it seems his first priority is me whenever he be around me...but with you I always felt you are a superior, it's always been a fan girl moment to me with you...you ignore and I keep stalking you..and..." She was cut off by Neil leaving her sentence incomplete. Neil stopped startled Avni speaking further by his touch. He kept his finger on her lips shushing her up.
"Shhhhh...I don't want to listen a single word about him...I know you like me as you were before. But you want me to crave for you the same I made you feel those years.. right!!
Okay then I'm ready to go through all the pain I have given you being oblivious" not averting his gaze away hers he took a step closer to her. They have never been this much close to eachother before.
"Sia also kissed you that day in the party" Avni moved away his finger off her lips made an angry pout creasing her forehead.
"She kissed me on my cheeks okay!! Not like that asshole... kisi k girl ki peck letey phirta hai" he cursed under his breath in an annoying tone.
"Kisi k girl" these words from his mouth first time made Avni churned her stomach gulping hard following by her pounding heart in reaction.
Next moment shoving her not so good for her health thoughts she spoke to divert herself "By the way he didn't kiss me on my lips..he kissed on the spot away my lips" She bite her lips a bit in amuse the second Neil grew wider his surprised eyes at her but immediately lessen up them being calm and Avni got perplexed staring at his changing expressions.
"It really doesn't matter to me anymore if he has kissed you or not...rather I'll take it as a punishment for being aloof to a girl who crushed on me since last few years dedicatedly whom I ignored..."pulling down the hood slowly off her head he put some hair strands away her face and tuck them behind her ears leaning to her nervous face. Avni dropped down her flickering eyes and held them towards the ground. Her heart beat is rising being this much closer to him in real and by his touch. Though she has seen him closer several times in her thoughts and rarely in dreams sometimes doing naughty things. Whilst now Avni know real things are hell different than imagination she is experiencing right here with her crush.
"But now... I know what exactly I have missed..." His deep voice made Avni lift her eyes at Neil and she clutched her sling on her side.
"And I don't want to miss further more for any of my stupidity...I want you in my life every second...everywhere I go...by my side I want you whenever I walk to the class...when I sit in the canteen with my group of people...in the gallery cheering me when I will be representing our university along my basketball team...and the last, kissing me when I'll come to you with a winning smile...that's all I want" he grinned broadly staring at her stunned face.
Avni gulped forgetting to blink her eyes by those words of Neil.
She has always wanted to do such things with this boy whenever she used to steal glances at him in front of her, all the while in the classroom, canteen, playground, every single place she used to stalk him being a lovesick soul. She always wanted to be around him, admiring him, craving for him to look at her, notice her for once but in return she always got disappointed, Neil never gave a single glance towards her.. on the top he even never cared her presence.
"That's freaking hot" the words slipped out of her mouth staring at him in trance but Avni shut her eyes immediately cutting her tongue and realised the grave she has done at the hit of the moment. Avni flushed in embarrassment avoided glancing at him. This cute gesture made Neil pulled her to his chest and wrapped his arms around her protectively.
"Main tera bann jayunga... promise" He cupped her face breaking the hug, he pressed his lips on her forehead lovingly then causing her shivered Neil trailed downwards to her face and gave a heart throbbing kiss on her jaw left Avni gasp closing her eyes.
