Aeron
I was met with two pairs of eyes, staring at me. Keres, pizza role in hand, mouth agape, staring at me like "didn't you...just go inside...?". Rue smirking, probably thinking that Keith and I had a fight.
"Wait, wait, wait. Let me explain. Everything's cool and I just, uh... YEAH, stuff. Let's eat!" I sat down at the table and took the last pizza roll. Don't tell me it's rude, it was my idea to get them anyway.
"What was Keith talking about, though? Rue isn't giving me any answers.." Keres said poking me.
"He was asking plenty of questions... enough to get him kicked out of a mall," Rue said in an annoyed tone while rolling her eyes.
"WELL, you're supposed to ask questions when you want answers. That's what I did. Can you really blame me?" Keres glared at Rue.
"Uhmm, Rue. Please, tell me you didn't say anything? Please." I begged, hoping she hadn't actually said anything.
"Jeez, what do you take me for? Of course, I didn't say anything, chill out. But, still, Keith is right. Keres deserves to know..." She was saying that while eating pizza rolls, so kinda hard to take her seriously.
"Yeah, yeah. Okay. So, who wants to go out fo-"
"I can't, I have to go meet with Maghs. Sorry, actually I should have been on my way a while ago. He's gonna be mad, gotta go. See ya, guys, love you. Don't burn down the house while I'm gone, please." She said before...either returning to the necklace or teleporting somewhere. You can never be too sure with her.
Keres was staring at me the whole time, I could feel his glare piercing holes into my head.
"I get it...I'm good looking but like, can you not stare into my soul?" I say turning towards him.
"WHAT? I have questions!"
"And, I'm assuming you want answers?" He nodded and opened his mouth to start talking but I cut him off. "You won't be getting answers anytime soon. You just gotta wait until I feel like spilling the beans. And, I get it, I should tell you since it'll affect you, too. But, I can't. Sorry, I guess. But, I really can't talk about it." He stared at me intently as I talked and nodded a few times.
"Uhh...are you ever going to tell me?" He asked.
"Yeah, eventually. Or Keith would kill me." I wasn't actually sure if that was an exaggeration or not anymore. He could actually kill me if I didn't tell Keres. Which is a bit much, don't you think?
"Okay, whatever. I'll be in my room, the-"
"No, no, no, no! You can't just leave! I said we were going out for ice cream. So, we're going out for ice cream." I dragged Keres outside as he hissed from the sudden sunlight. "Stop being so overdramatic, it's only a bit of sun."
"So?? Just because it doesn't affect you doesn't mean it doesn't affect me. You can't call me overdramatic when you used to do this." He glared at me through a shadow cast by his hand that was trying to stop the sun's blaze.
"That was years ago! Let's just fo-" Before I could finish the sentence, I saw Keres's features warping out of shape and everything dripping with darkness.
What just happened?
