"I'm sorry," he said. What was he sorry for?

Was he sorry that he broke my heart? That he left me alone in a time that I needed him the most?

Why was he sorry? HE was the one who broke MY heart.

Why was he so upset?

Why were his eyes filled with regret and sadness? Eyes that suggested that he too had missed me, as I had missed him? Why his he sorry, that he threw our 4-year relationship down in the drain like it was nothing?

WHY?

"No Yanan, you can't be sorry," she said firmly. "You can't."

"No Yanan, you can't be sorry," she said firmly. "You can't." It broke his heart that she said those words. But she was right. He did break her heart, HE threw their 4-year relationship down the drain. He couldn't be sorry. It was his fault. He wanted to apologise for what he had done, but he couldn't. He just couldn't.

"Yanan, you left me. In the time that I needed you the most. Even if you are sorry, I don't accept your apologies. Yanan, we're over and get that in your head. I've moved on. So should you." she said, and although her eyes told a story, her words told a completely different one.

"Goodbye Yanan." and then she left him.
