On the outside:

Marshmallow dresses.
The sun
burning their fluff
a fizzing grey
to charcoal
blankets the sky---
drops of clear
softens the grass
like fingers on
a piano.

On the inside:

Delicate but timely
pitter-patter on the roof
She lathers with soap,
an aroma of lavender
tickles the windows
for a sneeze of release.
Chemical flowers fit
in the pockets
of her raisin hands,
but marinates the clothes.

She hangs them out to rinse.
