Casey leaves earlier than planned Saturday morning so she can figure out the bridal shower situation with her mom. They texted back and forth the day before and apparently there were no plans for the rehearsal dinner either. To ease her work load I volunteered to work out the rehearsal dinner so she could focus on the shower.

Once I realize how stressful the rehearsal dinner will be, I immediately regret volunteering.

I spend most of the day online trying to figure out where to host the dinner since the actual rehearsal will be at the venue. I write down some places and set my list off to the side. My phone buzzes next to me and I glance over the screen, where Dylan's name pops up. I quickly open the message.

Are you busy?

I need a break from researching so I type back No.

A minute later he's calling me. I stall for a second, prepping myself. Why is he calling?

"Hello?" I answer.

"So I may have gotten you an interview for the content creator position, but I need to know what day works for you to go to New York City for it."

That's a lot of information to process. The interview is in New York and they want me to pick the day? "I can decide on the day?" I ask him.

"I may have pulled some strings for you. I know you're going to be busy with the wedding so I fluffed up your schedule to make it seem like you're super busy, but desirable," he explains. "And the current content manager is retiring at the end of August so they want her to conduct interviews before she goes."

"Wow," I say instantly. "Anytime after the wedding would be perfect, preferably on a Friday."

The sound of papers shuffling takes over. "Okay, I'll keep that in mind. And write it down so I don't forget," he says. "What are you up to now?"

Part of me wants to keep everything to myself, especially the stress, but I feel like ranting. "Well, I have a rehearsal dinner to plan so I'm trying to find a place to have it."

He stays quiet then speaks. "What about the hotel everyone will be staying at for the wedding? Usually bridal parties get ready at the hotel before the wedding. Why not a banquet hall in the hotel?"

I might cry. I haven't even thought about the hotel, and I don't know if Casey remembered to tell everyone to pick a hotel to stay at.

"I might just die from the stress this is giving me right now," I say instead. "I don't know if Casey has a hotel booked."

"Don't worry, I got it. I'll call her right now and ask. If not, I'm pretty sure I can get a special at a hotel there. This is my job after all," he says confidently. "Let me call you right back."

We hang up and I feel anxious. Hopefully Dylan is able to figure out some details because I might go crazy from all of this.

I wait for him to call back, but then an hour passes by, and another. I'm lying on my couch staring at the ceiling when my phone starts to buzz. It's Dylan again.

"Hey," I answer.

"I might have gotten a whole floor booked at Hotel Cedar for two nights, and rented out their small, but quaint banquet hall for the rehearsal dinner. I tried to find one closer to the venue, but everywhere was pretty booked. Hotel Cedar is historic though, so it's nice."

I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. "Dylan, you're a lifesaver. How did you do it?"

"My job is to find the best discounts for clients, and I can be very convincing and charismatic. This is why I get paid what I do," he laughs. "I already talked to Casey about the whole thing so her and Levi can figure out who'll be staying in the rooms. Obviously the bridal party, but also any relatives they have from out of town."
