"Why?! What happened? What's gonna happen to us?" Chandler obviously had his priorities straight when it came to his load of questions..
Me on the other hand. I didn't know what to say. I just leaned back in my chair and listened to the conversation that was being had between my mom and my brother slowly being muffled as I got lost in all the questions that were running through my head.
And then it hit me.
I stood up, looked my mother dead in the eye and asked "What's gonna happen to the ranch??"
My brother hushed. She sighed. "Well.. " She thought for a second. "Your father and I can't make up our minds on who gets to keep the ranch..
so if I'm being honest, we might just end up selling it and splitting the money."
"What?! What about us? Where are we gonna go? When is all this happening?"
-3rd person pov-
The mother looked at her daughter with deep sadness in her eyes. She cupped the young girl's face in her hands. "Honey. Everything's gonna be okay. I promise."
She then held the hand of each of her two children. "Neither of you have to worry about a single thing. I promise"
