Warm furs suffocated her sleeping body. Beads of sweat building against her neck and crawling it's way down to her spine making the silk nightgown adorning her body stick to her like a second layer of skin.
It was hot.
Tossing and turning for what seemed like hours, Jisoo finally decided to stop trying. The sun was just about ready to rise anyway.
The Princess shoved the heavy covers off of her. Tiredly raking her fingers through her long dark waves. She didn't get too much sleep as she was busy all night trying to adjust her body to her new sleeping arrangements.
Nonetheless, she chose not to lay in bed for a second more and go freshen up.
The custom made trunks she received from her brother as gift from his traveling sat neatly in the corner of the room. Every now and then Sehun would send gifts home and this one happened be to be a trunk with a stylistic J sitting at the front of it.
Jisoo couldn't help the smile that adorned her lips at the thought of her brother. She missed him terribly, sending him happiness and safe prayers.
As she flipped the lock open, materials of dozens of dresses met her eyes. A soft sigh fell past her lips as she ran her hands against the handmade fabrics. The dresses reminded her of home since it was where they were all made by Lady Agnis, she was an kind older woman that lived in the castle and made all of Jisoo & Irene's dresses since they were little girls.
A knock disturbed her silence. She was a bit lost as to who would be bothering her this early. Carefully walking over to the large door, she opened it only to find a woman standing before her.
"Good morning Princess." The nameless woman spoke, bowing before her. "I'm your handmaid. I'm here to serve you and help whenever you are in need of it."
"Oh." Jisoo softly whispered. I never asked for a handmaid, she thought. "Come in, come in."
The woman looked about the same age as Jisoo. She was pretty with cat shaped eyes. Dressed in dull drapes. With a nervous smile on her lips.
"What is your name?"
The girl look confused. Unsure of why someone of such high class would want to know her name. A look of panic even crossed her features afraid she might have done something wrong.
"I'm sorry," she quickly said. "I apologize if I offended you in—"
"Offend?" Jisoo asked. Chuckling in disbelief. "I simply asked you for your name. Why would you have offended me?"
"I apologize your highness. It's just..you don't ask the help for their names. I believed I might have angered you."
Jisoo couldn't believe her ears. Unsure of how to respond.
