A new beginning

The Break up

Connie and Steven were screaming at each other, they've been fighting quite a lot recently. Connie slapped Steven who painfully hissed at the pain he felt, Connie stormed out of the house but not before screaming "You and I are through Steven! I hate you!" slamming the door behind her not bothering to listen to his response. Steven sighed and sat down on the couch and put his hands on his face in frustration. Amethyst came out of the corner worried about her friend, she saw him slumped on the couch with his hands on his face.

"You alright dude? That's the worst fight the two of you to had..."

Steven sighed and took off his hands from his face revealing the tired look on his eyes, Amethyst walked towards him and sat down beside him. Amethyst opened up her arms silently telling Steven he needs a hug which he gladly accepted the invitation, He laid his head on her shoulder and Amethyst wrapped her arms around him comforting him.

"It's going to be alright Steven...You two have fought before and made up the next day right..Just..give her some time to think.."

Steven hummed understanding what Amethyst was trying to point out but he knew that they were both too stubborn at this point to apologize to one another. He was tired of the fighting, the screaming and the slaps, Why can't she just understand that he can't always have time for her, he's a diamond with responsibilities, he need to keep the peace between everyone and that's all that they have been fighting on and on about. Amethyst and Steven suddenly heard the warp pad meaning someone was coming their way but it couldn't have been garnet and pearl they were too busy with helping Bismuth with the reconstruction of the little home world. Then Steven saw the familiar pink pigtails.

"H-Hi u-um sorry to drop by all of the sudden. Well i just um wanted to visit and see how you are doing Steven-"

Spinel noticed how sad and tired Steven was kinda like when she was when she was abandoned at the garden. She quickly walked towards him and unconsciously grabbed his face causing Amethyst to let Steven go and inched a bit for Spinel to sit down. Steven muffled a surprised squeak.

"Steven what happened? Are you okay? Did someone hurt you? Who did this to you?"

Spinel began to ask different kinds of question, Amethyst chuckled at the two, Steven couldn't get a word out due to the fact that his face was mushed between Spinel's hands thankfully for him Amethyst intervened.

"Uh dude you gotta let his face go cause his face is currently too smushed to speak though it does look pretty funny to me"

"amvsytesshm"

Steven muffled but Amethyst simply ignored him and chuckled at him, Spinel understood Amethyst and let his face go and impatiently waiting for his response to her questions. Steven sighed and weakly smiled towards Spinel touched at how much she changed and cared about him.

"Well you see my girlfriend and I sorta broke up...in a bad way and I'm pretty bummed about it"

Spinel looked at Steven with a confused expression on her face making Steven chuckle a little bit and thought to himself that she can have her cute side.

"What's a girlfriend?"

Spinel asked while tilting her head to the side causing Steven to chuckle even more and thought to himself that she's doing that on purpose being that cute is illegal.

"There is also a term like a boyfriend which is a title you give to someone you are currently in love with"

Spinel blinked trying to compute the information Steven had given her but she still couldn't understand, she put her finger on her mouth and began to think what on earth is a boyfriend and a girlfriend. Amethyst just kept quiet she didn't want to say or give hint to what Steven had just said because she wanted her to learn on her own but as much as it was entertaining for her to watch this she needed to go to little home world and help out Pearl and Garnet the reason that she was there was because she needed some parts from her room to give to little home world, Amethyst stood up catching both Spinel and Stevens attention. Amethyst grabbed her stuff that she put down near the warp pad and turned back towards them.

"Welp seems like you have all the company you need Steven, I gotta bounce Pearl and Garnet still needs me at little home town and all these stuff, I'll leave him in your hands Spinel make him smile again okay?"

With that Amethyst left the two alone together Spinel turned back to Steven and stared at him, she could really tell how tired and sad he was, she stood up causing Steven's attention to return towards her and he followed her with his eyes as she sat on the sofa beside him. He smiled towards her.

"You know..Although well I tried to kill everyone here I'm surprised that everyone here has forgiven me...I messed up so bad and yet you all just moved on.."

Spinnel muttered as some tears started to fall from her cheeks, She quickly wiped them away saying to herself that she was suppose to make Steven smile not make him even more depressed with her problems.

"Everyone makes mistakes Spinel.. we all have our flaws..even the diamonds and even me..if you are willing to change for the better good then that's all that matters cause we all have experienced something horrible in order for us to do those kinds of things, forgiving is not easy but we all do it in order to move forward and take a step further on to the future."

Spinel smiled and laid her head on Stevens shoulder causing Steven to flinch but relax when he felt her sigh.

"We're both pretty fucked up aren't we"

"Spinel language"

Steven playfully warned and Spinel just stuck out her tongue at him making Steven chuckle in response he laid his head on hers and they quietly enjoyed each others company.

"I don't know anything about a girlfriend but if she hurts you too much then why not just let her go so you could rest for a bit?"

Steven sighed and looked down on the ground

"That's not really easy cause I still love her.. even if she doesn't understand me.."

"She's not the only one that loves you Steven. Everyone here does including me, we care about you and would do anything to make you happy. She's not the only person that you have in your life Steven, It'll probably hurt for a while but as time goes by you'll finally move on and be happy again"

Steven smiled and nuzzled his head on her head happy to hear those words from her she really did change and he was really glad she did.

"How many days will you be staying with us Spinel?"

"About 3 days"

"GREAT! I can show you around beach city and treat you to food that is so good here!"

"That sounds great Steven but let's do all that tomorrow cause in your state I think you don't have the energy to move"

Steven agreed and they went up to his bed and binged watch movies from horror to comedy to drama to romance etc. until they both fell asleep Spinel on Steven's shoulder and Stevens head on Spinels head.
