dont be frightened

Naru opens the door and fumbles for a light switch and just like a normal horror cliche..the lights wont work
I follow Naru inside as he turns on his phone flashlight and shines it around the room.
The room was cold and damp. The carpet was soaked with a liquid that squishes under your feet and that horrible sound of water dripping swallows you as you walk deeper into the room and the chilling feeling almost devours you.
I gulp as I stay closer to Naru. I dont get frightened from a lot of the things I see in the overworld but that girl..she makes me feel uneasy..and what she says to me..will it really happen? And will it be my fault?
My mind starts falling in a rabbit hole as I continue to theorize about what the girl meant and not paying attention to what I need to be paying attention to
''You came back miss.'' The familiar voice was almost a slap to the face, pulling me back into reality as what stood before me was the girl with the face and now...my face?! I look closer hoping to god that I saw it wrong but..I didnt..my long (h/c) wraps around the girls chest as my face looked like it was carved into her. The two heads were screaming in agony. They were in pain..
''Don't worry. This isnt you, it's one of the many other yous in a different dimension. I simply just ate her, she was quite good.'' The girl says as she licks her chapped lips as she looks at me
I shutter and hold on to Naru's shirt sleeve
''And who is he? Your boyfriend y/n? How cute~'' the girl spirit chuckles as a smirk appears on her lips slightly
''If you dont mind me asking, who does that other head belong to on your face?'' Naru says completely avoiding the question she asked
''Who? Well I can't believe you dont recognize her! It's your lovely little girlfriend! Well a version of her at least. You see, I've taking quite a liking to her.''
''May I ask why?'' Naru says as he puts his hand on my back and pulling me close
The girl looks at Naru with an angered look ''You said it your self didnt you? You called her a rare, precious gem..right?'' The spirit says as she looks at me
I start to get a little scared and move a little closer to Naru
''Am I going to die?''
''Yes I did.'' Naru says as he puts his hand around my waist and pulls me to his chest
The spirit starts to get angrier. ''Stop rubbing it in my face.''
I look at the spirit
''I'll curse you to death!'' The spirit screams as objects move around the room
Naru holds me close
The girl screams louder and suddenly everything stops
A loud whistle comes from behind Naru as a Shiki strikes at the girl
The girl screams and the entire floor collapses. The last thing I heard was Mai screaming Naru's name before we both fall in a huge pit.

Naru's pov:

I was the first one to wake up. I sit up and look around. There was some wood beams as some places for torches to be. A rail track was placed on a small path behind me. ''Is this..a mine?'' I thought to myself as I move so I'm leaning against the wall next to where y/n landed. There was some dim lights from the hole that we fell in but not much, but just enough so I can see y/n's face. I start studying her face features..her (h/c) falls on her flawless smooth skin as her soft lips pressed together. Her sleeping face..so beautiful..

Your pov:

I start to regain my consciousness as my eyes flutter open. I sit up quickly and look around panicked.
Naru gently pulls me to him and comforts me..I guess he saw I was having a panic attack..
I grip Naru's shirt as I hide my face in his chest ''I-I'm sorry Naru..'' I murmur into his chest
''For what?'' Naru says as he strokes my hair
I stay quiet for a small bit as hot tears roll down my face. I sniff and say ''For getting your shirt wet..'' I sit up slightly a hide my face so Naru wouldnt see me cry
Naru hugs me. His warmth was comforting and shielding..I felt so safe in his arms..
''Don't be frightened. I'll keep watch while you rest up, you seem tired.'' Naru says as he puts his coat around me
I close my eyes and fell asleep instantly

When I wake up I was on Naru's back as he walks me to the base. I look to the left of me to see Lin holding a rope..he must've got us out last night. Naru was giving me a piggyback ride as we walked to homebase..I wonder how he got me out..
Lin opens the door for Naru as he walks in with me, Mai screams and runs to Naru worried and starts talking his ear off
''Mai, please..be quieter. You'll wake up y/n.'' Naru says as he looks at her with an annoyed look
''I'm already wake..'' I say quietly
Naru kneels down so I can get off of him, I do so..his poor back(>~<)
''Next time..let me take the first fall.'' Naru says as he looks at the scratch on my shoulder
''That's right..I remember now..I pushed Naru to try and save him but..that didnt work..sorry Naru..''
Naru grabs a first aid kit and starts treating the cut. It hasnt scabbed yet..my shirt has been soaking up the blood
I wince from what Naru used to clean my cut, Naru feels bad and then for pay back he let's me squeeze his hand as he holds the rag on my cut. Masako gives me a bitchy look as she turns away and stands by John. Mai soon puts a bandage over my shoulder and then stands as she yells both of our ears off about how we sould have been more responsible. Then Lin, Ayako, and Monk tell at us for not contacting us sooner or that we stayed in a dangerous area.
I frown and I look down
''This is all my fault! I should have made Naru stay back and let me go first!''
''That's enough. Whats done is done so stop whining over it. Y/n, when your ready I want to go back down to that Mine we fell in.'' Naru says as he stands
''No way.'' Lin says as he stands next to me ''You both will not go back to that room.''
''I dont remember when you started calling the shots Lin. May I remind you, your the assistant and I'm the boss.'' Naru says as he looks Lin dead in the eye
''Like it or not, my job is to keep you safe.'' Lin says challenging Naru
''And?'' Naru says taking the challenge
''And that means if it means your safty I'm in charge Naru!'' Lin says as he raises his voice with Naru
The two boys go back and forth with this 'who's in charge' argument. I finally had enough as I stand and grabs the two boys ears and pull them down to my level
''If anyone is going it's going to be me. Naru, if I recall right you landed wrong on your left leg. You shouldnt be walking in a mine were theres a lot of place to lose your footing. The mine isnt going anywhere and theres many others that are willing to go and check it out while you rest.'' I say with a sharp tone
''But-'' Naru starts but I cut him off
''There is a strong spirit after me. And she didnt take kindly to you. Imagine what would happen if we went in to the mine together. Even if someone else was there with us she would take it even more wrongly.''
Naru and Lin nod obediently
''Lin, do you mind tending to Naru's leg. I have to go grab some cameras from the car.'' I let go of the two boys ears as I walk out of the base and into the hallway
Lin takes Naru to his room
''Is it okay to breath now..?'' Monk says as he looks at all of them
''Did y/n just get possessed or something?!'' John says as he looks at Masako
''No..she didnt but..that was..-'' Masako starts before Monk cuts her off
''Hot! I've never seen her like that before! Holy crap!'' Monk says as he shakes John
''I-It was different!'' John says as he tries to stop Monk
''I for one didnt even knew she had that in her! Ayako says as she hits Monk's head
''Just..remind me not to get on her bad side..'' Mai says as she giggles at Monk
I give a small smirk as I walk off to the car

I soon hook up the cameras in the cave. I was in the base hooking up the connection. Lin comes out of Naru's room rubbing his ear. I look up at him and then quickly look away
''Y/n.'' Lin says as he crosses his arms
''Yes Master Lin?'' I look at him with an innocent smile
''Next time..just pinch Naru's ear.'' He says as he sits down next to me
''ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL HER?!'' Mai says as she throws a pillow at Lin
''She'll be fine.'' Lin says as he types up things
''AND HOW DO YOU KNOW?!'' Mai says as she stomps her foot
''Well it's common for people not to hurt their crushes!'' Ayako says as she looks at me
I freeze.
''Crush?! Naru..has a crush on me?! What?! No! He- I- I'm- AHHHHHHH''
Masako and Mai both look at me..guess the two got the hint and I dont think they quite like it. They had a piercing look at me with an angry look that sent shivers down my spine
''Y/n, go check on Naru for me.'' Lin says getting me out of this awkward situation
I nod and walk to Naru's room and quickly escape inside and close the door..
As soon as I do Naru was hugging me. He was a lot taller then me so he had to bend down to put his head in my shoulder. He wraps his arms around me
''Naru? What's wrong?'' I say as I hug him back
''I am finally able to touch you.'' Naru says as he looks up at me with red eyes.
