(The alarm buzzing)

The sound of the alarm wakes me up from my sleep.

I lay on my back silently starring at the ceiling allowing my thoughts to flood my mind, thoughts about how my first day in the Universities campus will be like.

I then mutter to myself "I need to get up before my mom rushes in my room and wakes me up."

I hate waking up on Mondays. Damn I hate Mondays more than anything, I guess.

It's funny how the year went so fast , today I'm moving out to the campus. I wonder if I'll meet any of my high school friends.

I'm glad all of my belongings are already packed, well I packed them last night to avoid getting late to the campus reception.

As I gather my things to get ready to leave, my mom calls me from down stairs "Eddie, are you ready?"

I think she's more excited than I am, but it's okay. I'll miss her.
Instead of responding to her question I run downstairs with my bags on my hands.

"I guess you're all ready..come let's go" she says to me while reaching for her keys that were lying on the counter table.

Life is going to change.

Life in highschool was so easy and fun. I heard life after high school changes in most cases if you depend on your parents allowance money, you have to go out there and start working while studying. Well as for me I'm lucky because I've been working since I was in my 11th grade.

I'm mostly working during weekends 9-5 shifts. I hope it won't disturb my studies. I really do enjoy my job, the money I make every month I save it up, and the tips too. Damn I can't believe next weeks my 19th birthday. I hope by then I'd have friends already.

I'm dragged out of my thought's by my mom calling me,

"Son, please take good care of yourself don't disappoint me. Always remember what you want in life and never forget that okay Eddie" my mom says to me while starting the ignition.

Her words mean a lot to me thus I'll always take that in mind and never disappoint her. She's more of like my sister than my mom though I don't really open up to her about everything.

Our ride to the campus was quiet but relaxing not so uncomfortable just the radio echoing the entire car and my mom humming along the songs she likes.

When we reach the campuses parking space my mom finally spots an empty parking space and decides to park it there.

When the car is parked, I decide to unload my bags from the boot. I realized that there are a lot of parents dropping their children's to their first year in University. I feel so nervous right now. There are so many what "ifs" going in in my mind.

I need to relax.

When I'm done unloading my bags from the boot I turn my back against the car, I see a blonde short girl walk towards us, well that's what I think.

Is she really coming towards us? Me?

"Hello, I'm Holly I'm new here and my parents just dropped me off and left...rushing to work, I hope you don't mind" this blonde girl says to me and my mom with such a sweet warm smile.

Before I could say anything to this girl, my mom beats me to that and says, "No problem sweetheart! I'm Miss Smith but you can call me Lauren. I'm the mother of this handsome guy over here Eddie Edward. You can join us" wow did she have to say my full name Edward, anyway I'm glad she did not say anything off.
