Hi poor reader who happened to stumble on my story! Well, if you made it this far, then good luck, because I kinda... suck. At this.
So yeah, since you've probably read the first part, like the first first part of this story, you're probably wondering why there's a second first part.
Did I confuse you yet?
Did you leave yet?
Huh, no. Wow. Thanks.
Well anyways, I decided that the first part was way too cringy, so I'm rewriting it. Yay!
NOT.
Again thanks for reading, and on to the story!

"Kara?"
I looked up at my little sister. Her wide, innocent clear blue eyes were staring at me thoughtfully and scared. "Yeah?"
"Are we... going to be safe?"
I smiled sadly, wrapping my coat around myself even tighter. "No, Allie, I think that we'll have to stay here on the street for a little while."
My sister snuggled closer to me. "How long?"
I patted her head. "I'm not sure. Here, have a little leftover chicken." I passed a paper box to her.
Months ago, Allie and I had a family. We had a home. We were full of happiness and joy. We had three meals each night.
Until they came. One night, my parents were assassinated. Turns out my mother was the leader of a gang rebellion against the government, and one of her gang members betrayed the gang. All of a sudden, we were evicted, and months later, Allie and I were living on the streets, homeless and begging for a spare coin.
"Kara, can I go for a walk?" Allie asked, interrupting my train of thought.
"I'll come with you. It's getting colder and I don't want you to get sick. I can't afford of any medicine." I added the last part under my breath. I couldn't have Allie worrying about me either.
Allie smiled. "Okay!" she took my hand and we wandered down the street. We passed a park and a dog, another homeless man and a kind lady who gave up five bucks and a banana. Fifteen minutes later, Allie was munching on the banana and we were lost.
Well, as lost as you could be when you were homeless.
It was getting dark, and my stomach ached. We had gotten ten dollars total today, and Allie and I shared a one dollar cookie with a small chicken wrap for dinner.
When we were finished, Allie tugged on my sleeve. "Can we go back now?"
I nodded. My little sister and I walked down the street, looking for the small alleyway we had put our sleeping bags in. It was getting cold, and I was shivering. I pulled Allie closer and tucked a lock of her light brown hair behind her ear.
"Aha! There it is!" I pointed to the alleyway we had slept in the day before.
"All right. Goodnight, Karie." Allie snuggled in her sleeping bag and closed her eyes.
I did the same, and was soon asleep.
