Chapter twelve

Naomi POV

Why are these people so weird. They faint, have mysterious lives, wind up in hospitals. Forget people they care about. I went and talked to Harrold while Arcade had talked to Darek and apparently Rosa wasn't calling either of them back. He was outside in the parking lot trying to gather enough gut to come up. I distinctly remember her saying once how much she liked go-tees, and the doctor had one. I smiled discreetly to myself. The woman behind the counter took one look at me.

"Don't tell me. Your the kind of person that likes sugar and caffeine. Monster, Coffee, or tea." She smiled and I thanked her when she held up the one I picked. I gave her the money and turned. When the elevator opened , Arcade was in it. He smiled and held out his hand.

"Looks like you and me are sharing the taxi, beautiful miss." He said. I took his hand and leaned against him.

"Well I guess we are kind sir." I replied.

I was so distracted by him I didn't notice the other elevator opening, and Arcade stepping out. As I got into the elevator he pressed the button and we were mostly silent going up to the floor Rosa was on. I was completely relaxed so when all of a sudden I was pushed into the wall I didn't have time to brace myself. My head hit the hard glass mirror and I was knocked unconscious. My last thought was Arcade had a blue hoodie on. Not a green button up shirt.

Arcade POV

I walked to the counter where a woman was selling food, water, etc... She looked at me and frowned.

"I think that's the fastest that old elevator has moved in years." She said. I didn't understand what she meant by that seeing as how I just got down here.

"I beg your pardon miss but this is the first time I've been over here. I just want to know if you saw a girl, Asian, blonde hair, tall, grey eyes." She looked at me.

"You mean the one who got into the elevator with you a moment ago."I started at what she said. I got in two elevators that day. One at the mall, the other just now. Both of them were empty save for myself.

Darek's POV

I looked at my phone and noted the third hour passing since I've been sitting in my car waiting. I opened the door bur then closed it.Maybe I should go check on them. No she might not remember me. But she might. But she won't. I just know it. I could barely feel her or even remember her. It was time to let her go. She just wasn't the one he needed. What he did need was guidance and wisdom. He was about to start the car when he remembered something. Putting his hand in his pocket he felt something cold and metal. He had made a small wolf version of her. Sighing he got out of the car and started towards the hospital doors.

Naomi POV

I sat up and looked around. I was still in the elevator but Arcade was gone. Just as I was getting up the elevator door opened. I stepped out and looked around. This was in fact the right floor so I kept walking.

"Naomi! Wait up. Where's Rose." I turned to look at Darek who was stepping out of the elevator.

"I'm going to see her right now, but Darek she can't, she doesn't remember you." I watched his face drop slightly but then he looked up at me. He didn't have to say it I just nodded.

"Yeah she remembers me. Come on I'll take you." I walked towards her room and heard his footsteps follow not far behind. When we neared the room I heard laughter and music. When I opened the door the first thing I saw was Hendrix at the piano, pressing random keys and laughing. The second thing I noticed was Rose painting all over the walls and the floor pictures of Hendrix and her dancing. Then I noticed her hair. It was almost all gone. Darek pushed past me and when he walked into the room I stepped out. I knew my fights and this was not one of them.

Hendrix

I stopped goofing off when I noticed the door was open. A young man was standing and looking at Rosa. I stood and approached him slowly.

"Can I help you with something." I asked him. He looked at me, and I caught a glimpse of his emotions through his eyes.

"Is it true. Can she really not remember me, because I can barely recognize her. She's like a dream away." He said looking at her. I knew I had to tell him before he tried to call out to her.

"She can't see you. She can stare at the spot your standing for an eternity but you wouldn't be there. Not if your a wolf she was connected to." I said quietly.

"Hendrix what are you doing by the door. Are you leaving." I winced at the comfort in her voice when she said my name. I had some explaining to do it seemed.
