I didn't sleep at all last night. I had this feeling that Alexander would come back. The reason he gave my why he was here in the first place was stupid. Why did he want so much to do with me? I sat at the kitchen table trying to not to fall asleep. Daxton came and sat next to me. "Were you talking to someone in your room last night?" The question woke me up real fast. Did he hear that someone was in my room? I make a lame excuse.
"No, I got a call but it was the wrong number." Daxton nodded his head believing what I said. Tucker came into the kitchen from the front door.
"Feeds here." The feed for our livestock gets here on Saturday mornings. We all put it away and work on the other things on our farm. Daxton and I put on our boots and followed Tucker back out the front door. Mr. Snare, Mason's dad, is the one who delivers our feed. Mason came with him today. Mason jumped out of the truck and met me at the bed of the truck. I climbed into the bed of the truck and started to hand the boys bags of feed. Mason climbed up with me.
"How was your night?" He asked.
"Interesting."
"What do you mean by interesting?"
"I'll tell you later. Where is Brooks?" I tried to change to subject. Daxton walked up to the bed.
"Still sleeping." I picked up the last bag of feed and handed it to Daxton. Mason jumped out. I followed.
"Who wants to go four wheeling and leave Brooks to do the rest?" I smirked. Yeses were said heads were nodded. We all went to the barn to get the four wheelers. Mason stayed at my house so he could go with us. Mason and I shared a four wheeler. I sat on the rack on the back of the four wheeler and he drove. We cut across one of the fields and into the woods. We took the muddiest path. The was filled with deep mud puddles and pits of mud. The wheels of the four wheeler kicked up mud onto Mason and I. The rest of my brothers were ahead of us. Mason pulled over under two big oak trees. He got off and took off his helmet. I got off as well, removed my helmet, and sat it on the front rack of the four wheeler. Mason turned around to look at me.
"So tell me about your interesting night." He caught me off guard. I wasn't actually gonna tell him what happened last night. If I did he would stand out in front of my house every night making sure that Alexander wouldn't come. "Come on Brynn something had to happen. Something you didn't want your brothers to know. If you did want them to know you would of told me at the house." Clearly, I don't want my brothers to know and Mason. He is like one of my brothers. "I promise I won't tell your brothers."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
"You know that guy from the diner the one who has been bothering me?" I leaned back on the four wheeler seat.
"Yeah."
"Well his broke into my room last night."
"He what?" Mason yelled slash said.
"This is why I didn't want to tell you or my brothers." Mason put his on his forehead.
"I'm sorry. I just don't know why he was in your room. Did you guys do anything?"
"No. We talked for like three seconds then we heard someone outside. So he left."
"Why was he there?"
"He told me he wanted to see me and talk. He was gonna talk to me at the diner but we left." Mason walked towards me.
"He likes you." I went back to the spot on the four wheeler where I was sitting before.
"No he doesn't. He's the type of guy to sleep with a girl then leave." Mason sat back in his spot.
"Maybe you're different." I never thought that he could actually like me. He probably just wants to sleep with me. We both put on our helmets. Mason started to four wheeler and took the path back to my house.
