Logan huffed in confusion, rubbing his temples. "Explain to me why you thought this would be "fun" again?"
Patton had been visiting everyone in the mindscape, informing them of his Christmas party. However, Logan did not understand the point. "You want me to attend your...seasonal celebration, correct?"
Patton nodded enthusiastically, bouncing on his heels. A quiet voice spoke up from the corner, and Patton turned his attention towards Virgil nestled on the couch. He didn't look up from his phone. "I'm with nerd on this one," he ignored Logan's cold glare, "social events just aren't our thing. Sorry Pat, maybe next year." Patton frowned and fiddled with his cardigan."Pretty, pretty please Lo...you're the most important person there!" Logan almost let his lips twitch into a smile at that. He also couldn't help but observe the way Patton's bottom lip was quivering. He'd hate to see Patton hurt - infact, if anyone hurt Patton again he'd see to it personally that they were killed. (Not to be dramatic, or anything.) He found himself nodding. "Of course. I'll s-see you there, Patton." Patton beamed at him lovingly and Logan hoped that nobody could see the light pink hue that was covering his cheeks.
"What's this I hear? Fairest anxiety is NOT coming to our Christmas party?" Roman dramatically swept through the room. Virgil rolled his eyes. "Princey, I'm obviously not going. Why'd you care so much?"
Roman frowned a little. "I just hoped to see you there, emo nightmare."
Virgil raised his eyebrows, stuttering a little. "R-really?"
Roman grinned. "Of course! You can't miss it!" He made pleading puppy eyes at the purple side, who caved in. "Fineee. But we are NOT playing stupid games."
"Why, that's the best part!" The two left the room bickering.A couple of hours later, and the sides were swaying to Christmas music and chatting merrily. Virgil frowned as he observed the room. "I hate to be the one to say this, but where are Deceit and Remus?" Patton glanced over, laughing nervously. "Let's just... let's just say they aren't joining us anytime soon."
Virgil shivered and nodded.Patton turned to Logan, trying to make idle conversation, though his heart was beating so hard he thought it might jump out of his chest. He grinned lopsidedly. "So, Logie, how are you enjoying it?"
"Huh?" Logan was startled out of his trance. He had been glancing at Patton's soft hair, almost in a daze. You couldn't blame him, really. It was just so curly, so soft... soft enough to just reach out and touch... "Earth to Logie?" Giggled Patton, waving a hand in front of the entranced side. Logic's brows furrowed together in irritation. "Oh, forgive me, Patton. I seem to keep finding myself rather distracted."Patton made a noise of understanding, letting him continue. Logan shook his head to snap out of it as he replied. "I'm enjoying it just fine, Pat. You did a great job." Logan tried for a warm smile. Patton beamed at the nickname. "Ya think?"
Logan's breath hitched as he realised how close he was to Patton, Suddenly aware of the space between them. He could see every individual freckle on Morality's cheeks, like shiny constellations. All of his prominent facial features; and his rosy, pink lips. They were tempting - they looked very kissable. But Logan was not one to let romance intrude on his work.
Awkwardly, he cleared his throat. "Well, salutations for now. I am going to get myself a drink." Unsurprisingly, Patton smiled. "Just be careful of the berry punch," he warned, "I'm not 100% sure if Virgil spiked it." He fell into laughter, and
Gosh.
That laugh. It made Logan's insides all fuzzy with a feeling he couldn't describe. It was warm, and friendly, with no traces of malice. His eyes sparkled as he giggled, his hair flopping into his eyes. Logan tore himself away from Patton and was faced with Roman at the drinks stall, grinning. "Hello, dearest nerd! What can I get for you?"
Logan grunted and ignored him, turning away to get something himself. Roman grabbed his wrist, pouting. "Hey! I was just messing."
He lowered his voice to a whisper. "So, you and Patton, eh~" he winked.
Logan fixed Creativity with a quizzical stare. Roman scoffed. "You two should just kiss already!"Logan's face heated up at the thought, fumbling for his cup sheepishly. Roman grinned as he held the table steady. "I don't know what you mean, Roman." He glared. "Yeah. Sure you don't. Don't think it's not obvious - you two eye each other up like you're, ah, I don't know, Romeo and Juliet!"
Logan quirked an eyebrow at his pathetic teasing and walked away, nearly bumping into Patton. Patton laughed again, a high pitched noise that awakened butterflies in Logan's stomach. "So we meet again." Grinned Logan. Patton giggled nervously, glancing up at the taller man.
"Yeah...." he gazed off into the distance, and Logan felt himself place a gentle hand on Patton's shoulder. "Everything alright, Patton?" He was no stranger to Morality's tendencies to disguise his emotions. Patton, still our of it, was now focusing on Logan. "You're so pretty, Lo..." As soon as the words were spoken he covered his mouth in shock.
"I-Im so sorry! I didn't mean t-!" He was stuttering, his red face rivaling a tomato. Logan surprised himself, leaning down and interupting Patton - pressing a gentle kiss to his plump lips.
In the moment, it was deep and slow and passionate and all the pair could've asked for. Patton pulled on Logan's tie, itching for him to just be closer, cherishing the magical atmosphere. When they they pulled away, they were met with wolf whistles, grinning. "Oh, Patton." Logan couldn't help but pull him in for another.
Bonus:
As Roman and Patton were busying themselves clearing away later on, Dee and Remus came sauntering down the stairs about three hours late, visibly red and disheveled.
"What'd we miss?" Deceit purred, smoothing out a wrinkle in his shirt.
Patton could only smile.
