"I almost feel as though I should be asking you that, Dr. Lecter." I start with a soft, awkward giggle. Dr. Lecter smiles softly as a small huff leaves his soft lips. "If that would make you more comfortable." Something about how he bores into my (E/C) eyes makes my brain feel like mush, as though I am melting. The alien feeling making me more and more curious, yet calm.
"Miss (L/N)?" A sudden voice pierces the questions in my mind. "Oh, yes?" Jumping slightly my body straightened to face Dr. Lecter entirely. "You spaced out for a moment?" My eyes widen slightly realizing my rudeness. "I'm so sorry! That was terribly rude to me. Another smile crossed his lips, one I wasn't quite sure of what it meant. "There's no need to apologize, would you mind telling me what was on your mind, since we're here?"
"Oh!" A sudden heat flies its way to my cheeks. "It really wasn't much! Nothing important..." Pausing for a moment I look away shyly before regaining eye contact with him, the feeling his gaze gives me never leaving my body. "Shall we get back to our conversation?" I desperately want to get off of the topic of my thoughts, fairly embarrassed at both my absence of mind and at the reason it went absent in the first place. "Of course," Dr. Lecter began, crossing his right leg over his other. "Would you prefer this to be a more typical analysis or something new?"
"Something new?" I ask quite curiously. "If it's anything different from sitting for three hours answering questions I'll take something new, please." With my social skills being off par and Will not being around to help me when I say something wrong I quickly question my sentence. Luckily, Dr. Lecter lets out a warming chuckle at my words. "I agree, staring at a paper writing for hours on end does tend to be boring for some people. That's why I like to always give my clients a choice."
"A simple, but kind move, thank you." As a small smile crosses my lips Dr. Lecter continues. "What seems kind to some is common courtesy to others." After a small pause, he starts up again. "Now, all we are doing is having a small conversation, how does that sound?"
His words surprise me slightly I give a simple nod, an awkward feeling encroaching through my veins. "Perfect." the tiniest panic began to set in but determined to get through the conversation I took a silent deep breath to calm my nerves. The big test, (Y/N), you can get through this. Although something like a simple conversation might not be a big deal for other people, it certainly is to me. Ever since I was little I've always had a terrible time learning social cues, which has caused some unfortunate circumstances in certain scenarios. Just make sure to think before saying anything, don't be an ass!
As the end of our conversation came to a close Dr. Lecter stood up and strode over to his desk and picked up a shining black pen. "I think you're doing just alright to do any job that jack gives you." Dr. Lecter states simply as he scribbles lightly on the paper in front of him, assumably signing the papers for my passing. "Well thank you then." Believing that this was the end of our session I stood up, ready to leave back for the office, assuming Dr. Lecter was coming back with me though, I stayed in place in front of the chair.
"I do, however, believe that you should continue attending therapy sessions." My eyes shot over towards Dr. Lecter from their place on the door. "Why?" I spoke, a little quieter than expected. "If you would like to continue attending sessions with me or find another psychiatrist either would be alright." He isn't even looking at me! "I thought you said I was okay?"
"Yes," He starts, "However, I believe that you would benefit from speaking to someone about your social issues."
"You noticed? Was it that obvious?" Finally, Dr. Lecter looks up towards me, his eyes focusing on mine once more as he picks up a few papers from his desk and walks towards me. "Of course I did, I assume the other psychiatrists did not, seeing your surprise?"
