This is a really good question because it really got me thinking.
I really don't have a particular way to get inspiration. Most of the time I come up with a rough outline of what will happen and come up with a mood for the story.
Whenever I write a chapter, I listen to a song that suits the mood of the story. I usually go through a few ideas before I get the one I use for the chapter.
