I woke up a couple miles from the castle I would be staying at for my extended stay and my job. Peter told me he would have woken me up if I hadn't woken up by the time we got to the palace. Did I really sleep for two days? But then, I realized that it was dawn and I realize the ride had gone by faster than intended. So, I was only asleep for a day ana half.
Wow. I never knew that me staying up late to tutor Yasmine on her assignments. But now that I had my nap, I was ready to get started once we pull up to the castle. The carriage stopped and I hopped out ignoring the footman that was trying to help me off. I immediately went to the luggage cart with my stuff aboard it. But one of the palace workers had gotten to it before I could.
This part made me stop and think for a few minutes, because within the society we had always been taught to take care of yourself and let no one do that for you. But in Narnia, that was all different with everyone trying to help me with something. That was something I would never ever get used to here.
"So, where are your siblings, Peter? I would love to meet them." I told him using my hand to create a stream of glittering gold stream of light to grab my luggage from the fingers of the servants.
I flicked my hand to form a hand from the stream of light. Now, my luggage was levitating itselt all thanks to my magic.
"Do you always use magic like that?" he asked me.
"Yes, yes I do. Because it's just naturally fun." I explained to him.
"My brother won't like it. I have to warn you he's somewhat anti-magic. Well, with you know, his experience with it." Peter explained.
Right. Forgot there were some of us that used magic for evil and darkness and it gave magic a bad name. We're already look down upon, but now that we have some high end names that aren't so friendly, magic was viewed as a dark force. My job was to get people without magic a serene sense of mind about it and to emphasize that not all of us was evil.
"Yeah, I understand. Magic historians are in charge of current and past events in the archive library, and Magic Archive is the only class I attended in the morning." I explained.
"You have magic classes?" he asked me.
"Yeah. Potions, charms, magic history, transfiguration, defense, offense, energy fxture, etc. I finished all of my schooling two years ago, but I still stay at the Grand Magician's castle since all witches under the age of sixteen are supposed to stay there for schooling." I explained to him.
"I will make arrangements for your greenhouse after you meet everyone and while you get settled into the-."
"Peter! You're back!" the loud high-pitched voice of a young girl cried out.
A young girl (younger than I am) with brown hair ran to the tall blonde male and swallowed him in a hug. "Hi, Luce. You seemed to miss me. I was only gone for how long?"
"Five days. Almost a week." the girl noticed me standing to the side and stopped hugging her brother (I assume). "Who's she?"
That's when I noticed the other two royals coming out of the castle. A girl about the same age as Peter with brown hair like her sister and a boy about my age with dark hair and blue eyes.
"Hi, I'm [Y/N]. I'm your mage." I said extending my hand out to the three royals in front of me.
"Mage? You do magic?" the youngest (which was a girl) said jumping up and down, her short brown hair flopping against her shoulders.
"Evil magic I reckon." the boy who was the same age as me mumbled but I still heard him.
Peter smacked him in the back of his head, and I heard him hiss, "Be nice."
The older female shook my hand. "I'm Susan. This is Lucy, and that's Edmund. I do hope you like it here in Cair Paravel. Do you want any help taking your stuff?"
"No. I think I got." I waved my hand and my luggage disappeared.
"Wow. That's so cool." Lucy commented, her eyes practically doing all of the smiling.
"Whatever." the boy, Edmund, scoffed.
I saw the glare that Peter sent his younger brother. I was prepared for this. The society prepared us for anything that the outside world could have ever thrown at us. And by anything, I actually mean anything. Lucy grabbed onto my arm before dragging me into the castle.
"Come on, [Y/N]. You shouldn't be the bunt of Edmund's awful attitude." Lucy explained to me.
"Where are you taking me then?" I asked her.
"To the kitchen to get you some food, and then, to your room to get your stuff put away." she informed me.
"Sorry, Luce, but you won't be able to do that. I already put my stuff away in my room." I told her.
"Oh. Well, that's okay. We can still get you breakfast then." said Lucy.
"I'm not hungry."
The look on the young girl's face made me feel bad that I had tarnished her plans for the morning. But all I wanted to do was put on brand new clothes and explore what this palace had to offer.
"How about I go change out of these clothes and afterwards, you and me can go explore the palace? Sure, you live here, but I've never set foot inside here, and it might be a wonderful bonding exercise since I'll be working closely to the rest of you." I offered to her.
Lucy's eyes widened as her smile brightened into a beam before she nodded and zoomed away. I walked up the stairs and down a hall towards my room. I found it, but Edmund was standing in front of my door.
"Good morning." I said smiling at him. "Do you need anything?"
"Why are you here?" he growled at me.
"Your brother wanted a mage, and the Great Magician said I would be it, so I'm here because she assigned me." I explained.
"I don't believe it. Do you have some sinister motive in mind? Something that will hurt my family?" he asked me.
"No, not at all."
"Good, because if something bad happens to one of them that can't be explained, I'll think it was you, and knowing how magic works, it probably is you. So. Do. Not. Try. Anything. Or you'll regret every stepping foot inside this castle. Got it?"
"Just get away from my door before I send dancing silverware your way." I hissed at him before marching into my room and slammed my door shut.
Did that boy just threaten me?
