This is the tale of a passionate and faithful journalist. An epic journey of a living saint with a camera, a pen, and a paper in grasp.
She scribbles down notes 24/7. That every unorthodox event, she records. Mediocrity is not in her vocabulary, and she always braved hastiness of the world and the risks of the unknown.
Her name is Betty.
All of us have flaws. Tiny blots that can affect our whole selves. And as for Betty, people in her workplace specially her boss, always made her feel like she wasn't doing enough, like she is never good enough.
"You need try harder, Betty."
"No chance, Betty. Maybe next time."
"It's hopeless. You can't do that, Betty."
It was always a "no" for her. However, as a journalist, she must not give up. Betty swallows everything, all the rants and nags people throw at her. Every single word. Then she goes on, with her head up and act like things are fine.
"I will show them. I will show them that I am good enough," she promised herself.
Until one day, she decided to take another chance and pursue a perilous story. Gunshots. Screams. Blood. Families running.
She selflessly delivered the news along her camera man. She interviewed victims, and filmed the chaos, mindless of the dangers that they will inevitably face.
She made it.
The filming of the telecast was done. And Betty was so ecstatic to deliver this story to her boss.
"Help! Help me, please!" some girl cried.
Betty wasted no time. She ran to the direction of the cry. She needs to save the trapped girl from the debris of the falling building. Trembling, Betty looked at the helpless girl, her hands clasped on her chest. It was a hard time for the girl to get out due to the heavy rubble pinning her left leg. Without second thoughts, Betty lifted the rubble with all her strength while the girl pulled out her leg and limped away. Not a minute later, the whole edifice was nothing but a pile of wreckage.
The girl was safe.
And as for Betty, her best telecast was her last one.
