you were tying your hair getting ready for the day when a knock on your door startles you, "your highness?" it happens to be one of your guards.
"oh you scared me for a minute there, what is the matter?" you calmed yourself and asked.
"pardon me, your highness, but the King and Queen require your presence in the throne room this morning after your breakfast." he informs you.
"ah, i see. i'll be down in a minute. thank you."
when you were finished with breakfast, you went straight to the throne room. the morning sun ray fills up the golden coloured room making it look as if it was built yesterday when you entered. you see mother and father on their respective thrones as you elegantly approached them.
with a graceful bow, you say, "good morning, your Majesties. you requested my presence this morning?" you playfully say.
"hahaaa as informed, my young daughter." your father, the king, boomed with a big smile on his face. your mother chimed in, "how are you, my daughter? we have exciting news to tell you," she says and continues with, "if you're up for it.'
"exciting news? like what, exactly? nothing exciting has been happening around here has it? i would be delighted to know." you cheerfully said.
"well," your mother started,"you've realised that you have come of age haven't you?" she asked, making direct eye contact. "yes, of course, mother." you replied.
the King continues, "have you found someone that you've grown a strong interest in?"
" i don't believe i have, yet, father," you answered the question.
"then it's time you find someone to spend your days with, darling. we won't be here for you forever, and you know that all too well. your father and i aren't getting any younger, you know," the Queen says.
she's right. but you refuse to believe the thing they say, you know that all too well.
"your mother's right." your father agrees, snapping you from your thoughts. there was a five seconds silence in the throne room. he finally breaks the silence by saying, "we are going to Asgard tomorrow morning and well, while we're there, we'll find you someone decent to be your husband one day." he explained, catching your full attention.
marriage? you thought.
without saying anything else, you nodded in agreement. you never fancied finding a nice person to be with for the rest of your life by yourself, and your parent's decisions were always the best. and besides, you've heard about Asgard's two flawless princes. mainly, Thor, the God of Thunder. but that's all you know. the other prince? Loki? oh he's trouble alright. you'd rather be married to Thor.
"splendid! Asgard tomorrow it is, then. i will send a letter to Odin to let him know." the King declared and went off.
"go pack your things for tomorrow, darling," your mother said as she laid a kiss on your forehead. "i will, mother. thank you." you smiled at your loving parents and bowed respectfully, excusing yourself from the throne room.
rather than going straight to your room, you went for a nice stroll in the garden. being in your nice yellow elegant gown, in the sun, you felt excited about the unexpected things that will happen tomorrow in Asgard.
you sat on a bench. breathing in the fresh air and letting it out steadily.
i wonder what adventures awaits me...you thought to yourself.
the next morning arrived.
you're finishing the last touches to your hair, checking yourself if you are in a decent look in the mirror to present yourself in front of the Gods later on.
"i wonder what they're like..." you said to yourself as you finish packing your favourite books to read in your spare time there if you have the chance. Shakespeare and poetry mostly. you adore them the most.
you head to the carriage that awaits in front of the main entrance door to the palace. feeling really confident of this new day, you greet your parents with a charming smile on your face like always and got in the golden carriage after them.
the journey wasn't as long as you thought. you spent the whole time reading one of your books, actually.
"we're here." said your father which made you look up to your mother who had a big smile on her face. "are you nervous, darling? you seem a bit pale," she pointed out.
"nervous? pale? do i? or are you just saying that?" the both of you started to giggle.
actually, you did feel quite nervous. very nervous, actually. you suddenly had a lot on your mind.
the carriage stopped and the its door opened, signalling you to get out of it. nervous, you stepped out confidently.
you had to shield your eyes because of the bright sunlight that hit directly. you looked back and gave your mother a hand in getting out of the carriage. with your father in the front, leading the way into the biggest palace you've ever seen, bigger than yours in truth.
once inside, you were surrounded by golden walls that shone brightly reflected by the light outside. you were astonished and the sightings took your breath away. you suddenly went into a halt and realised that in front of you, sat the All-father, Odin. you bowed instantly yet gracefully along with your mother and father.
Odin stood up and went to your father and gave him a big brotherly hug and said, "ah, King Ronald! so nice to see you again. how long has it been? 10 years? haha!" he exclaimed.
"i bet longer, my dear friend! hahaha!" they laughed together.
your mother on the other hand was greeted by Frigga, Odin's wife, Queen of Asgard. such a beautiful woman, you thought.
"so nice of you to come here again after all these years! we've missed you so!" Frigga said cheerfully. "oh yes, dear, thought we would love to visit old friends of ours. oh, and this is my daughter, (y/n). come greet the King and Queen, darling." your mother said as she grabbed you by the hand leading you closer to them.
"oh, it's very nice to meet you, your Majesties. it is a huge honour to have finally met you both," you greeted with a charming smile to the both of them. "the honour is ours, young lady." Frigga smiled at you sweetly. "and might i say, you are more astonishing than what our people have said. you both truly have an amazing daughter," continued Odin who then after a second of looking around, "and where did Thor go? i thought he was here just a few minutes ago,"
"i'm here, father!" one said while walking boldly towards the group. he bowed and said, "Thor Odinson, your Majesties. i hope you feel welcomed during your stay here," he said confidently and moved his gaze towards you and smiled. you smiled back. such a charming smile, you thought.
"have you seen Loki, dear?" his mother asked. "i'm afraid not, mother. i'll go loo- oh never mind, there he is now," he stated and all eyes were on the dark green suited man heading his way towards the group of people. you stood there, frozen, because of how mesmerising he looks.
when he arrives, he first looks at you and smiles and raises his brows a bit, then at your parents, and says, "pardon me for being late, everyone. i am Loki," he bowed, letting his black locks elegantly fall and back to where they were when he got up while saying," it's a pleasure to meet all of you." his eyes were locked on yours, and yours locked on his.
your heart skipped a beat. everything around you felt as if it was melting. his eyes were the colour of emerald green which twinkled every time he looks at you. you broke the contact feeling shy and looked down while biting your lower lip a bit.
Loki's lips curled into a small smile. he, too, felt something unusual, yet, exhilarating, inside of him that he's never felt before but could care less to acknowledge it.
[A/N: the names of the King and Queen, Ronald and Elizabeth are made up. the kingdom you were born in is made up. left it like that because i want your imaginations to run wild! other things belong to the MCU hehehehehe. will tell if any other things are made up! please anticipate! don't forget to vote. thanks for reading!!]
