What?! She's updating the story twice in two days? That's insane.

Anyway, I don't have a real reason for it. Mainly I'm just doing it because I can, so whatever.

Also, I might update again later today, y'know, because I'm nice like that.

Enjoy.

ELIZA’S POV

“Are you sure I can have these?” I ask, looking down over the outfit that Gerard had managed to scrape together for me. I was hoping that I would at least get my jeans back, but the hole up the side of the leg was not appropriate, and the blood stains weren’t going anywhere, so I was stuck in an oversized onesie until Mr. Way remembered that he had accidentally taken some of Lindsey’s clothes when he moved here.

This left me in a plaid skirt and one of Gerard’s old t-shirts. We managed to save my converse, and Gerard lent me a sweatshirt, and now he was driving me to Ophelia’s house, where I would be spending the Spring Break that seemed to creep up on me out of nowhere.

“Yeah, it’s fine,” he said, smiling at me before returning his gaze to the road in front of him. “I mean, if Lindsey really wanted those clothes, she would have taken them back. Besides, what am I gonna do with a bunch of plaid skirts?” We both laughed and then the car settled into a comfortable silence, only the sound of the radio cutting through.

“That’s her house,” I say, pointing at a blue, two story house on the road that we were on.

Mr. Way nodded and pulled up against the curb. I groaned at the sight of the red Mustang parked in her driveway.

“Is something wrong?” I look at him and then back at the hideously flashy car.

“No, it’s just, Fee Fee’s boyfriend is here, and we aren’t exactly fond of each other,” I sigh. “It’s okay though.” I start to open the door.

“Wait, do you want to go do something for a while and come back later?” I was shocked at the offer. He had already done so much for me. “We could go get coffee, or go to the park or something.”

“I don’t want to be any more of a burden,” I say. “It really isn’t that bad anyway. I just ignore him.” Mr. Way shook his head though.

“Eliza, you’re not a burden. I like hanging out with you.” I stared at him, trying to figure out if he was bluffing. “Besides, it’s not like I’m doing anything. Just come on, I don’t want to spend the day bored, and you don’t want to spend it with someone you hate.”

It seemed as though I didn’t have a choice. I decided it would just be easier to say yes.

I sigh and close the door again, watching him and waiting for him to go. He just grins like a two year old on Christmas, which in turn, makes me laugh.

“So,” I say after my laughter dies down. “Starbucks then the park?”

His grin grew and he took the car out of park, chuckling as we pulled away.

“You know me so well.”

Three hours later, we were wandering around the local park, watching ducks in a pond, and coming up with back stories for the other people that were there.

“He’s a crack head,” I say, scrunching my nose up and gesturing to a guy who was yelling at a jacket on the ground, and seeming to be beating the shit out of it.
