R053 was sleeping soundly and snug in his cold and dark room. It was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. His sleep was soon to end as he heard a faint scream. His eye shot open as one would wake up from a nightmare.
Though this time, it wasn't just in his mind. The screams were quite real. At first he was confused as he had never heard the screams continue after he awakens. He swiftly got out of bed and peaked around the corner. He couldn't quite see who was producing those ear piercing screams, but they soon faded as a large cloud of dust appeared. He decided it was best to go back in his room, he ran as fast as he could back to his room but tripped and fell face first.
Tears quickly swelled up in his eyes. He was about to sob audibly until his father quickly rushed over to him and helped him up. "R053, it's ok, I'm not angry, just tell me what happened." His father said. He was so choked up that all he could say in response was "T-tripped, fell... running...". He hoped that his father would get what he was talking about. His father let out an audible sigh. "Well, let me ask you this... why were you up and out of bed so early R053?" His father questioned. R053 was a little hesitant to tell him but he figured that he would get an even worse punishment if he lied to his dad. "I... I heard screams, they didn't go away when I woke up so I got scared." He said as he rubbed his sore face.
Tears dribbled down his face from the pain. His father slowly raised his hand to cup R053's chin. "A-are you mad at me dad...?" R053 asked as he looked into his father's cold eyes. "No," His father averted his gaze from R053, "I am not angry at you. I just was worried..." R053 sighed in relief. "Sorry if I scared you dad..." He looked down at the shiny, polished floor. "All that matters is that you are alright... Are you feeling better now, R053?" His father asked, looking back into R053's eyes. R053 slowly nodded as he wiped the tears away from his eyes.
R053 wrapped his arms around his father, giving him a hug. His father hugged him back as he pet his head. R053 had fallen asleep in his father's arms. His father slowly picked him up, being careful enough not to wake him, and put him back in his bed. He tucked R053 in and left a shiny heart shaped gem on R053's nightstand.
