*this chapter is a flashback*
When someone of the opposite gender asks to see your paper it can mean one of three things. It can mean that they are professing deep affection or even love (this can be ether gender), it can mean that they want you to propose (preferably a woman), or it can be a marriage proposal (preferably a male).
Asking to see their paper can only be a marriage proposal if their papers mach.(papers match when the other paper has the same word or make a common two word frase)
Sear nervously knocked on Booker's door. She had come here with a purpose and that almost made her week in the knees. As he opened the door, with a look of pleasant surprise written on his face, she brushed past him with a stubborn and nervous energy. "Come on in" he mused when she brushed past him.
Then she exclaimed "CanIseeyourpaper". He just let out a chuckle and went into his office.
She stood awkwardly while she waited, neglecting the couches.
When he returned he was holding a tattered looking piece of paper. He held it as if it were his life-line.
She then took out her own wrapped paper, witch was quite possibly even more tattered than his, and approached him with a shy elegance.
When she got closer she saw through his normal mask (slightly amused) and saw that he was just as nervous as she was.
Suddenly she wasn't sure whether she wanted to do this. She wasn't ready to lose him if they didn't have the same word. What if he isn't her other half. She felt like running out his door and never talk about this again.
He caught on to her thoughts and a look of understanding overtook his face, "if you don't want to do this we don't have to, we'll just be one of those couples that aren't married"
She took a deep breath, reaching out her hand to take his she said "if you are not my other half will we stay together?"
Booker said nothing in response, instead he took out his paper and showed it to her with anticipation.
Sear let out a pained cry and through herself into him when she saw the paper.
Written his the paper was a simple word "other".
On her paper written in an elegant cursive was "half".
