Hey everyone! This will be the only author's note throughout the entire book, I promise. I just wanted to make a few statements before I start writing.

I've been contemplating this book and how I'm going to write it for a few months now. I just got out of a pretty tough living situation that will forever leave scars and I thought that writing a book based on some of the things that happened would be a pretty creative outlet. I also need to move on from everything once and for all. So I'm writing this book, titled Dollhouse, (also inspired by the song by Melanie Martinez) that is very loosely based on events that have taken place in my life...so it's safe to say this book means a lot to me, and I haven't even written the first chapter.

Of course, names, places, and events have been altered so some things that happen in this book are fabricated to help the story flow better. So you wouldn't know what actually happened to me and what didn't unless you know me personally. I figured this would be a good way to tell my story, nevertheless.

I'm looking forward to writing this book and seeing how everything unfolds. I must warn everyone that this story will contain a lot of triggering and mature themes such as drug abuse and addiction, sex, and suicide. Please read at your own risk.

I'm gonna go ahead and wrap this whole speech up by saying I love you guys and I hope I can even help one person out there who has been through similar struggles. At last I can finally get everything off my chest and move on from it. I'm much happier and healthier since I've been out of that toxic environment and it helped me realize my own worth. Please don't be afraid to reach out to your loved ones/support system during rough times. I've seen many therapists and mental health specialists since the early age of 9 years old and come to find out I'm showing a lot of signs of Borderline Personality Disorder. I can't say I'm doing 100% better yet but I am definitely getting there. Mental health is more important than some may realize. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. In fact, it's the first step in recovery... the first step towards a happy and healthy life. Please please please take care of yourselves ❤️❤️❤️ if any of you are looking for a sign, this is it.

Alright, here we go. Welcome to the Dollhouse.
