3 minutes later

Mr. Hegarty's face popped on to the screen. Mineta almost dropped his laptop. His eyes were large and soft partly covered by his curly hair, but the smile made his heart flutter, he actually looked pretty damn good in a plaid shirt. Mineta's through dried up, not a sound could come out. He sunk down into his favorite yellow blanket.

"Hey you doing okay you've gone pale, I can call later if you want?" Coilin questioned. For 34 years old he looked not bad, what was his skincare routine?

"Yeah, I'm fine I just was a bit startled" Mineta stuttered as he partly hid his face again.

"um, could you help me with direct algebra number 327?" mumbled Mineta shyly as he twiddled his pen in his hand. It took Mineta 25 gloriously embarrassing minutes to figure out how to do direct algebra, sometimes blushing.

Mr.Hegarty

2:35 pm

The day had been slow: the week had been equally dull. Wake up, make a green matcha tea and sit down to make a video and check his emails. Hug his cat, of course, Aristotle who most of the time sat on the windowsill on his velvet asymmetric pink pillow. His other cat Collins lay stretched out across the radiator purring. Life was bleak, his romantic life was bland as tomato soup. The last one ended in a pathetic mess of "Please don't go!" and "You're nothing but a blank slate!".

Not many people seem to like him.

Around 2:00 he got a message from a student about how they were stuck. He spun in his spinny chair around his large Tokyo apartment. Their name was Mineta: a nice, shy boy. A bit of a cheek, but seemed cute. During their facetime, the kid's face was constantly blushing or stuttering. Another 16-year-old introvert. After these 25 brutal minutes of teaching algebra, they got to talking. Not in a weird groomer way, but a casual conversation about what else he struggles with, he never understood what he meant when Mineta said about "odd feelings". Something inside of him stirred inside as they talked into the afternoon. They spent hours talking, it was different. He didn't have to put on a face. Every time a Mineta messaged him it felt like a rush of energy. For the next couple of months, they talked between classes, until Mineta asked.

"Hey, I was wondering do you want to meet up at a coffee shop and do some work together? I have a maths test coming up. I know a cute little cafe downtown," He questioned in a confident voice, which was unlike him.

"Sure, umm, maybe we could meet there at around 4:30. I would have finished editing my video by then," Colin said in his work voice, it was a bit of a habit now.

The day went slowly by, he couldn't wait to head off to the coffee shop. His cat didn't give a damn but just watched the white Cockatoo next door, his fluffy tail swishing from side to side impatiently. His cat Colins stared at Mr.hegarty as he edited his videos and went back to batting the yellow flowers in the vase. Those cats were his fat baby's so he didn't care if they kept knocking over all his stuff.

Then, after many hours, it was time.

He scanned his wardrobe and found his suit for the most special occasions. It was navy blue, decorated with symbols of pi. He even had a matching tie with it too. It was perfect. He put his clothes on, making sure every inch of it looked perfect, then he headed out of his home and went in his light blue Ford Fiesta. He and Mineta had decided to meet up at a cafe called the 'Ebony Magnolia Cafe' in the center of Tokyo. The sign for the cafe was written in a cursive font, decorated with cherry blossom and magnolia flowers. It seemed like the perfect place. He parked his car outside the cafe and walked through the sliding glass door.

And he saw, sitting there blushing in the corner, was Mineta.
