Authors POV

Today was a big day for Diana and although her face would never show it, her mind was a swirling mess of excitement and anxiety. Today was the day her very own witch guard would be assigned to her. Allow me to explain what a witch guard is. Many years ago, witches stretched all across the world with their seemingly limitless magical abilities, granting miracles to those in need and helping where they could. Unfortunately this made them a target to many different foes. Demons, humans who wanted to exploit their magic for there own purposes, monsters of darkness and even fellow witches. Knowing this, many brave people joined together to form "the witch protector army", whose duty was to follow and protect witches at all times and at all costs, the witches thankful for their dedication to their protection gifted the armies with the ability to craft magical weaponry in order to further aid in the their goal as well as bestowing them the ability to use one form of magic to protect the witches and themselves from their many enemies. However nowadays there was not as much magic in the world as there once was and as the amount of witches depleted, becoming more and more ostracised by humanity, the witch protector army also became shorter as well, to the point where they were no longer considered an official army and were only funded by the witches themselves. In order to coup with this change rather than have the army guard all witches as a whole it was decided that when a witch began to unlock their true magical ability they would be assigned a single witch guard to protect them at all cost and today was Diana's special day, to meet the one who would forever guard her till her final days.

Diana's POV

As I walked the halls of Luna Nova Academy, My mind couldn't help but race with the multitude of possibilities of who I would be assigned, but naturally I did not let it show and maintain my perfect calm face, my two best friends and teammates Hannah and Barbra however did not bother to hide there excitement. "I hope I get someone cute" said Barbara enthusiastically, "I know I hope their funny too" replied Hannah excitedly "what about you Diana, what do you hope your guard will be like" said Hannah turning to me, "ye, after all this is a pretty big moment for us you must hope they'll be someone you like" added Barbra also turning to look at me, "girls while I will admit it is a big moment for us three and all the other young witches of Luna Nova, it is nothing to get this excited about" I said despite also wondering greatly about my own guard, "oh come on Diana, this is going to be the person who will be with us 24/7 surely you must be anxious about what they'll be like" said Hannah, "well they won't be with us at all times, they still have to report back to there superiors" I said hoping to change the subject, "still this is a big thing, but I guess I should have known better, you always manage to keep your cool about these sort of things, it really is impressive" said Barbra smiling slightly, "ye, you really know how to keep your cool about everything" said Hannah also smiling, I swear these two are like mirrors, what one does the other mimics like a reflection, but they are still great friends and teammates regardless. "Thank you girls and yes I am excited for this as well but don't let it distract you too much, after all we won't find out who are guards will be till the end of the day" I say smiling a small bit myself, I wonder what my guard will be like, I guess I'll find out at the end of the day.

(Time skip to the end of the day, cause I wanna see what happens)

Authors POV

The blue team currently stood outside the principals door where they would be told what they and all the other young witches of Luna Nova Academy had waited all day to hear (some more than others). "Are you ready girls" asked Diana who looked to her teammates who simply nodded in unison. They entered the room to see professors Badcock and Finnelan standing at opposite sides of the room, both their witch guards dressed in their usual uniforms standing at the door, Witch Guard Corporal Jarvis and Witch Guard Sergeant Kilpatrick, and at the end, sitting at her desk was Headmistress Holbrooke and at her side standing was her guard, Witch Guard General McDavis, he looked almost as old as Hoolbrooke herself but still retained a tough and authoritarian figure. "Ah girls, please come in and take a seat" said Holbrooke as the three witches all entered and took their seats near the desk, "now girls as you know today is the day you will learn the name of your guard, who will oversee your safety for the rest of your life" said Holbrooke looking at her own Guard who began to speak, "if for any reason you have an issue with your guard, please do not be afraid to report it to either me or headmistress Holbrooke here and they will be reprimanded as we see fit, if the issue is not unsolved after this we will try to see to getting you a replacement guard, though keep in mind we do not have many options at the moment" he said maintaining his stern face. "Now we shall tell you their names and General McDavis here will give you a file on them which we expect you to read over for tomorrow when you will meet them" said Holbrooke, "they have been given a similar one on you to read" said General McDavis pulling three files from his uniform. "Now then, when General McDavis gives you your file would you please stand and leave the office immediately" said Holbrooke as General McDavis turned to Barbra first. "Barbra Parker, you have been assigned Witch Guard Private Lotte Jansson" he said handing Barbra the file, "thank you Witch Guard General McDavis and Headmistress Holdbrook" said Barbra getting up and bowing briefly before leaving the room with her file, general McDavis then turned to Hannah. "Hannah England, you have been assigned Witch Guard Private Amanda O'Neil" said general McDavis handing her the file, "thank you Witch Guard General McDavis and Headmistress Holbrooke" said Hannah getting up and bowing like Barbra before leaving with her file.

Diana POV

It was now my turn at last and as General McDavis turned to me I felt my heart beat faster slightly with anticipation. "Diana Cavendish of the Cavendish family and manor, descendent of Beatrix Cavendish, you have been assigned Witch Guard Private Atsuko Kagari" he said handing me the file on my new witch guard, I stood and bowed, thanking the both of them like Hannah and Barbra had previously done before leaving the room to find them talking to one another about their guards. "This is so cool, oh Diana have you looked at your file yet" asked Hannah "can we see" asked Barbra, the both of them moving closer as I held the file of my new guard to my chest, "girls if it's alright with you I would like to read over my file in my room in private please" I said wanting to get to a place to read over this properly and in peace "oh sure" they both said in unison.

Diana POV

After the two had gone to bed I decided to finally look over the file, it wasn't that I did not trust my teammates, this just felt like a personal matter, something I would like to read privately and not something you would read with someone looking over your shoulder while you read it. As I opened the file the first thing to great me was the Witch Protector army logo (there were a few around the school as well), as I turned the page I was greeted with what was really needed to be know about my Guard, their name, age, race, rank, gender and other important information, as well as a photo of them. I stared at the photo for a few seconds, admiring the girl in it. She had long brown hair partly tied in a cute little ponytail, gorgeous red eyes and an adorable stern expression on her face, I blushed slightly at my own description and decided to forget about that and read on, preparing to meet my new witch guard. Atsuko Kagari.

(Hellooo my friends, so this is something I've wanted to do for a while since I love little witch academia so much and wanted to write a fanfic on it for ages, I'll update as frequently as possible, also the next chapter will be Akko's chapter, anyways until next time).
