Akko's POV

I woke up to the sound of trumpets in my ears and rapid moving footsteps as I all but fell out of bed at the sound (okay so maybe I did actually fall out but that's not important). "RISE AND SHINE MAGGOTS, TODAYS THE BIG DAY" boomed General Jackal as we all scurried to stand at attention (still in the tops and shorts we slept in). "Today is the day you will meet your assigned witch, I will now turn you over to Corporal Ursula here who shall explain the events planned for you today" said General Jackal, standing to one side to show Ursula fumbling with her papers as usual. "Right so, please pay attention. You shall carry out your regular routine till 0800 where you will all be expected to be at the main hall for a final fair well and to receive your official witch protector seal of approval, which will grant you special treatment in certain areas and businesses, though keep in mind the witch protectors are no longer an officially recognised army so these places will be few and far between" said Ursula handing out sheets to us which highlighted the various places where witch protectors were still offered special treatment (though most of it was just discounts at certain shops that witches also frequented). "Shortly after you shall be transported to Luna Nova academy where while the students are in their classes you shall be given a full tour of the premises, be sure to listen to the guide as to not get lost when you are officially stationed there. You are all expected to stop by my office to receive a magical charm and to be on the transportation lorry by 0930. Is that clear" finished Ursula with a stern expression. "Sir, yes mam" we all responded giving a salute. Ursula's expression morphed into a smile, "excellent" she said. "Your tour shall end at the schools main assembly area where the young witches will be waiting to meet you all. Now please get ready and head to the mess hall, you'll need all your strength for the day ahead" general Jackal finished walking away with Ursula in tow.

Authors POV

The trio of Amanda, Lotte and Akko had all gathered at their usual table and were chatting away. "MAN I'M SO EXCITED TODAY IS FINALLY THE DAY" said Akko giving the others at the table a lovely display of her partially chewed breakfast, "Akko for the last time, please swallow before you talk" said Lotte, "right sorry" said Akko, swallowing this time before continuing on her exited rambles, "but come on guys, you can't tell me youse aren't excited about today" "we are but don't forget what the witch protector army taught us when we first started, "always keep a cool head in every situation"" said Lotte, "something I've excelled at since day one" said Amanda confidently causing her companions to role their eyes. "But, Lotte does have a point Akko, we've been training for this day for like 5 years now, so let's try not to screw things up on day 1, ya get me" said Amanda taking another spoonful of her breakfast (nobody actually knew what it was meant to be, so they simply called it "breakfast"). "Ye I get what your saying, it's just, I'll finally get to see magic up close in person and protect the very people who use it in the first place, I don't get how youse can still be so calm" said Akko bouncing in her seat, "we are excited too, we're just keeping a better lid on it like everyone else is and I suggest you do so as well, wouldn't want any of the officers to think your too jittery for the introduction today" said Lotte with her usual mother like tone that was able to somehow get Akko to see reason usually, "hmm, I guess" said Akko deciding she'd had enough breakfast for today (one thing she was also looking forward to was finally having regular food in the morning again). "You guys are right" said Akko standing up, "I have to prove I'm a proud solider whose ready to take on anything, during the introduction, I'm gonna be alert, attentive and ready for anything, I'll show I'm able to protect all witches no matter what" said Akko giving off such a proud aura that you could practically see the witch protector army flag behind her blowing in the non existent wind. "Thats the spirit" said Amanda smiling at Akko usual antics, she was never big on discipline and had expected to be kicked out pretty early on, but Akko was able to show her exactly what dedication and hard work could actually achieve and that she didn't need to give up who she was to achieve her goal, it was always an adventure when Akko was around and that's just how Amanda liked it. "Agreed" said Lotte happily, she had to admit, if it weren't for Akko's passion and encouragement, Lotte likely would have packed up and left ages ago, but thanks to Akko she was still here and not only that but preparing for the day all her hard work would pay off. Both of Akko's friends knew they owed Akko a great deal for making their time her actually bearable and even fun, the two didn't fully know what lay ahead, but they knew one thing, as long as Akko was around, it sure as hell wouldn't be dull that's for sure. "ALRIGHT YOU MAGGOT'S" came a voice over the intercom, "oh come on I wasn't even finished" groaned Amanda as the voice went on. "BREAKFAST IS OVER, MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE MAIN HALL FOR YOUR GRADUATION CEREMONY, AFTERWARDS YOU SHALL BE LEAVING FOR LUNA NOVA" said the voice causing Akko to once again lose her shit from anticipation.
