Title: Chants Of The Songbird
Author: AlexandraTheGreat1
Genres: Poetry
Rating: [G] but many peoms are very emtional and heavy hearted.
Summary: Poetry, rants, random sayings, and everything else you could get from a stressed, sarcastic, and hungry girl with a head full of curls, mouth full of insults, and head full of wisdom. Although most of that wisdom was obtained from google and too much time spent with idiots. Anyways....read this thingamajig

Critique:
Embarrassing as this may sound, I have absolutely know clue how authors write poetry. I really don't. I can not fathom sitting down and pouring my heart and soul into just a few short phrases that sometimes rhym. This point exactly is why I had to shine some light on these AMAZING poems.
With this being said, I'm not huge on poetry. A lot of times I don't understand it. I feel like there just very emotional and heart wrenching quotes? Is that a thing? I don't know. But wanting to be more open to any and all types of literature, I found myself clicking around on Wattpad. It got so bad, I somehow found my way to this set of poems. How or why, I don't know? Maybe it's a higher power forcing my sorry ass to open my eyes up to the world. Now, earlier I had done a critique on Hear Me Nicholas and I had stated that I am stubborn and uncaring towards certain things. I like having my cake and I like being able to eat it as well. With this being said, HMN opened my eyes to stop being so stubborn and realize the pain in this world. But as I sat clicking around this site I found my way to Chants Of The Songbirds. Intrigued by her cover and summary, I began reading these quotes, and I must say they have opened my eyes to the beauty poetry can hold. Ironically enough AlexandraTheGreat1 was apologizing or doubting her qualities as an poet in some of the comments towards her readers. {Sorry if I offended you, there's a higher purpose for this.}
Being one of those readers who actually reads the authors notes, I found myself in awe that some of her deeper poems were written a year or two ago. They were just amazing. I found it awesome to see her put up these poems. Because all in all they really are amazing. Although dark, they show the beauty in the darkness, in the hurt and in the pain. One of my favorite lines out of all of her poems was from her very first one, "Once Upon A Time." Hopefully she doesn't mind me sighting and crediting her work. (if so tell me)
"Bliss, a poison I once sung"
"Now, my neck is wrung."
I'm sorry but if you don't find these two lines empowering you need Jesus, or help or something... Because I don't get emotional over books easily but these two lines hit me like a freight train.
Now than, I want to applaud AlexandraTheGreat1 for her amazing poems. Keep it up honey, because she is inspiring even the most stubborn hearts like myself.
