We began walking at a quick pace, as to not be caught in the night. Nighttime is when it becomes crazier. Nomads are more frequent, and zombies become way more of a jump scare. Me and my new found survivor were walking in silence when I finally grabbed the courage to begin speaking. "Hey um.. I never got your name. What is it?" I say as I kick a stick out of my path. She looks at me and raises an eyebrow, pursing her lips slightly. "Do you really need to know that?" She asks. I stop dead in my tracks and look into her eyes, my glare icy. "You are coming into my home. Around my daughter. So either you can tell me your name, or you can just forget about my off completely and leave. I don't tolerate bad mannered people. I've dealt with it enough." I huff and fix the shoulder strap of my backpack as I continue my trek towards the city. My pace quickened and my strides longer.

She struggles to keep up with me as I walk on. Judging by the look on her face, she seems to be filled with.. Guilt? I don't know, but I'm too pissed off to care. I'm giving her free food, water, shelter and this is what I get? Stupid questions. Of course you have to tell me your name, lady! The woman gulps loudly as she begins to speak up, saying "Okay, fine. I'm sorry. I just haven't talked to people in awhile..." her voice trails off as she lets out a sigh. She looks around as she continues,"My name is Remy." she mutters. I smile softly, tasting the name in my mouth. "Remy.. Hmmm.. Very beautiful name you have. Very beautiful." I slow down a bit so that Remy could keep up easier, my fury dying down. She looks at me with an unamused expression. "I was named after a liquor bottle, I'll have you know." She says, her eyebrows raised. "Oh yeah?' I chuckled softly. "I happen to like liquor." I steal a quick glance at her to see her staring me down. I stammer,"Not that I.. Eh.. Anyways! I have another question and then I'll stop bothering you." Nice save, my dude.

She tilts her head in interest. "Fine. Shoot. I'll try my best to give a straight answer." We come out of the forest into an urban neighborhood. We are getting close to home, I think. I clear my throat, not being able to go back on what I was about to say, I just decide to spit it out. "Uh.. How.. How old are you?" I trip a bit over a crack in the street and curse. She stifles a laugh. "Don't you know to never ask a woman their age? Jeesh. I'd say that basic manners are dead." She says in a sweet, teasing tone that makes me feel numb. "I'm just kidding." She adds,"Hmm. Well, let's see. The Red Night happened four years ago, and I was seventeen at the time... Four plus seventeen equals twenty-one... I suppose I am twenty-one." She shrugs and turns to me and smiles. I clear my throat again,"Ah. Okay. Yui is fourteen. I'm not too good with girl stuff, so..." My voice trails off as I continue walking.

She smiles, practically laughing at me. " 'Girl stuff?'" she questions, tilting her head. "Periods, crushes, and mood swings? That sort of thing?" She finishes, as she looks around. I smirk," Yeah. Although I'd kill any of her crushes if they came around. She's only fourteen after all. Plus, we don't usually have visitors or outsiders coming around too much.." I take a left on a street corner as my abode comes into view. Is a 2 story wooden cabin that has metal slide windows that were made to withstand most common weapons. It has a giant bamboo front and back door that I cut, shaved down, and installed myself. All the windows are lockable, just in case if we had to shut it down. You know. Nomads and the like. I holler from down the road at Yui to begin undoing all the locks that I have installed onto the door. I'm very serious about my families' safety. I notice Remy looking around and I begin to reassure her. "Don't worry." I begin softly," I've cleared out all of these houses and I have a border set up. Nothing will be within five hundred yards of my house." I smile.

"Huh." She replies,"You must be good with keeping everything maintained then, hmm? Regarding your house, of course." I smirk. "I mean, wood is pretty hard to maintain, but I do my best, yes." At that moment, Yui comes out of the house, a big smile on her face. My daughter isn't your average girl. She doesn't like princesses, or pink, nor Starbucks. Yui is into games, art, reading, rock and edm. She's a total tomboy. She comes out wearing blue jeans, and combat boots. She is wearing a long sleeve button down, like me, but hers is red. She has a slick Dojigiri, otherwise known as a "demon slaying sword" strapped to her back. No firearm, because I don't allow her to have one just yet. Sometimes that can be scary, you know? She is young and anything could happen. I trust her with the sword, but firearms are hit-or-miss. Anything could happen. Yui has blue eyes like mine, but long black hair that falls well below her shoulders. She's five foot two and still growing, I swear she is going to be taller than me. I pull her into a hug and kiss her head.
