jeongin put down his phone, not replying to chan's message because he don't know what to answer to that. he just stayed on chan's bed (yes, they're sleeping in one room), looking up at the ceiling as he lost himself on his thoughts.

it's almost a month now since he started living with chan, one month away from his homophobic parents (which he's really grateful for by the way). it took him a while to adjust and move on but he was really thankful because chan was with him all this time, and his friends also. they keep on encouraging him and making him happy till he's back to his old positive and cute self.

he don't even know what might happen to him if it wasn't for chan. gosh, he was still really embarrassed for saying nonstop i love yous for chan during that time at that dark alleyway, but all in all, he was glad he finally was able to tell the older that he really loves him. chan didn't say anything once they got to the older's apartment, he just told jeongin that he'll stay at the apartment for good now and chan won't let him near his parents again.

chan takes care of him so much, not saying it but showing how much he loves jeongin. the younger is silently hoping that they'll have a title soon. he don't want to have false hope and he wants chan to himself only. he's just waiting for chan to ask him.

too lost from his thoughts, jeongin flinched when he heard the sound of loud knockings. he groaned, forcing himself to stand up as he fixed the t-shirt (which was chan's btw) that was sliding off his shoulder because of how big it is for him. he went out of chan's room

"wait! i'm coming!" jeongin yelled when the knocking continued. he so not like it when someone's literally breaking the door because of knocking.

"g'day mate"

jeongin was expecting to see chan, so his brows furrowed when felix greeted him instead.

"felix hyung? why are you here?" jeongin asked in confusion.

"helping a kangaroo in need" felix chuckled, he held jeongin's hand and pulled him outside.

"wait, where are we going?" jeongin questioned as felix continued pulling him. they reached the elevator and felix pressed the highest floor, which is a way to the rooftop.

"wai— oh"

jeongin didn't finish his words when the elevator door opened, revealing a smiling seungmin who was holding what looks like a cardboard with a big heart drawn on it and words "i love you, jeongin" written on the center of the heart.

now he knows where this is going, and it made him smile wide unconsciously.

"come on, come on, get inside" felix rumbled excitedly and pushed the youngest inside the elevator as seungmin moved aside, handing jeongin a red flower.

jeongin didn't even notice that seungmin was holding that rose. he got the rose as he blushed. he wasn't use to this kind of things, it's cheesy, but he loves what's happening right now.

"our innie will have a boyfriend now. you're still my baby but i doubt that chan hyung will let me call you that because i'm sure that he'll claim as his baby" seungmin faked cry. jeongin giggled, blushing even more at the mention of chan.

"chan hyung is so possessive towards you, innie" felix butted in. "because as what he said, you're his baby and what's his is his" he laughed, but acted like he'll puke in disgust.

"we're so happy for you, innie" seungmin said softly as he and felix went to hug him.

"thanks hyungs" jeongin muttered and that's when they heard the elevator dinged.

the door opened and they're welcomed with jisung and minho, holding another placard with words 'you're my sun, without you my life will be full of darkness, jeongin" written on it, making the youngest giggled as the two holding the placard smiled at him, giving him thumbs ups.

"jeongin, over here" hyunjin who was by the door of the rooftop catched their attentions. changbin was on the other side of the door.

"aye, can't believe chan hyung will really have you now, it's just like yesterday when he was acting like a horny teenager for you" changbin teased once jeongin reached the door.

jeongin blushed, but he laughed with them nonetheless, but he frowned when he suddenly feel like a bother because his friends literally have to do all of this just for him and chan.

"you don't have to give this much effort just for the both us, i know you hyungs are busy but you still managed to help here" he told them, almost sounding like a whisper as they all fell silent.

but minho was quick to break the atmosphere as he clapped his hands and took a hold of the door knob and twisted it open but not yet opening the door.

"no time to be sad! jeongin, it's your day with chan, don't ruin it and besides this is what friends are for. we'll even be more than willing to manage and plan you guys' wedding" minho rambled, jeongin almost thought that he'll lost oxygen.

series of laughter and giggles errupted between them because of minho's words, followed by a series of "yes" and "let's all be happy".

jeongin smiled, nodding his head to his friends. he's so lucky to have them as his friends, his family. they're precious to him and he'll always choose then over everything else.

"now go, chan hyung must be dying from nervousness now, wondering what's taking you so long" jisung interrupted, laughing as he opened the door and felix and seungmin was quick to pushed jeongin outside.

jeongin flinched once the door closed loudly. he held the rose tightly as he looked up, seeing a smiling chan, now walking towards him, hands kept behind him. jeongin wonders what chan was hiding.

"hey" chan greeted once he's close in front of the younger.

jeongin smiled sweetly though he was really nervous. "hi" he greeted back, giggling softly.

chan smiled. "did you see the placards?" he asked. jeongin nodded with a faint blush. "good, i meant every words on it" chan voiced out.

jeongin didn't say a word, too shy and afraid that he might ruin the sweet atmosphere.

"jeongin.." chan started off, looking straight into the younger's eyes. jeongin hummed, waiting for chan's next words.

"a lot happened, i know it was really hard for you, but innie, i'm always here for you. i want you to know how true and genuine I am for my feelings for you. i know that I sounded like a total creep when I first message you" they both chuckled at the memory. "but that was my lame way of getting your attention, you were really cute and interesting, up until now you still are and will always be cute and pretty in my eyes. you're the best blessing that I could ever ask for. i love you so much and i won't let anyone or anything harm you, i'll protect you no matter what happens, jeongin"

chan's voice sounds so soft and calming, and jeongin knew that the older is true in all the words that he just said, he can feel the tears welling in his eyes.

and then there it is, chan retrieved his hands from behind him and jeongin saw the ring that he kept on hiding behind him. jeongin's tears flew out when the older held his right hand.

"yang jeongin, will you be my baby? forever and ever?" chan asked, a loving and fond smile plastered on his lips.

jeongin nodded. "y-yes, of course, i'll be your baby" he rumbled, he didn't even felt chan putting the ring on his ring finger until he let go of it.

jeongin looked at the silver ring, it was simple, he likes—no, he loves it because it's from chan. he threw himself towards the older and hugged him tight. whispering i love you.

"i love you jeongin, forever and ever"

chan whispered, pulling away from the hug to cupped jeongin's face and kiss him on the lips.

that's when the door of the rooftop opened and their friends flooded in, shouting and yelling as a way to congratulate them. jeongin pulled away from the kiss, his whole face and ears turning red in embarrassment. well, same with chan as the both of them met eyes, smiled to each other and both shook their heads on their friend's craziness.

"congratulations, chan and jeongin!" all their friends shouted in unison as they went in for a tough group hug. chan and jeongin was being squished but they don't complain at all, instead, they were smiling at each other with the same happiness reflecting on their faces.

this is the happiest day for jeongin, for everyone.
