Oops!

A Conversation with my father

Okay heres the next bit it's again short but I'm still seeing how this story goes but hope you enjoy:)

"my what?" I asked my father not quite believing what he just said

"your powers? Don't you know about them or has your mother kept at from you too?" he questioned me, all I could do was look at him and wonder what he was going on about

"okay well you see when me and your mother met what she didn't know about me is that I'm a Vacant.." he explain

"..wait what is a Vacant??" I almost yelled at him

"okay well we are magical most of us have one or two magical abilities as we call them" he explained

"okay so what am i?" I asked him

"well you are the first of your type you see all Vacant's mate with each other and don't have children with other species well except me, you see when I met your mother I fell so in love and knew she was the one for me and so you came along a totally new being" my father told me

"so do I have powers? And why am I just here now?" I questioned eager to know more

"well your only here now because before that the high council didn't know what to do about you and didn't know if you would fit into our world and they have only now decided it would be best for you to be here due to the discovery I your powers"

"I don't have any powers"

"oh but you do in fact you have at least three that we know of, you can hear what other people are thinking, you can make people become infatuated with you and you also have the power to move objects with your mind"

"what?!? I actually have all of those powers!" I shouted in his face

"yes you do you can't use much of them yet though because you haven't been trained to use them but you will here" he explained

"okay so what's next"

"well you will be enrolled in The Yearnings Academy where you will be taught like you would in any school but you will also learn how to enhance your powers and how to control them"

"okay when do I start?"

"a few weeks just now the academy is out for the winter starlight festival which is one of our most important celebrations and before you ask any more questions I want you to go to the library and find out for yourself" he told me

I got up and just as I was about to leave them room he called "oh the library is downstairs to the left"

So off I went down the most beautiful stairs I had ever seen-they spiralled down with wooden flowers traveling along the banister. After I got down the stairs I headed to the large doors on the left and pushed them open slowly and peeked inside. It was by far the biggest, most book filled library I had ever seen and all the books were organised into different sections. So I went in shutting the door behind me and walked around the room which was almost round and as wide as it was tall (which was very wide). I walked along looking for a section labeled The History of Vacant or something along the lines of that and after 10 minutes of searching the huge book filled room I finally found a book labeled 'From the Beginning: The History of the Vacant' which I felt would give me my answers so I carried the large book - struggling as I was so small to a large sofa in a corner of the room and sat down to read about the world I was entering.
