Chapter 24

I grab some of clothes to sleep in and walk into the bathroom. Shutting the door I walk to the sink and wash my face. I unbutton my blazer and put on the comfortable one. I was unbuttoning my skirt when the door flies open and in walks Enji.

"What the fuck! Get out!"

I gather smoke and cover my private area.

Enji grabs my arm and pulls me into his chest. "We weren't done talking"

Furrowing my eyebrows I move some smoke behind me and transfer over to it. I don't wanna hold my skirt anymore so I drop it and quickly pull on my shorts.

"Well I am, I don't want to have this conversation with you"

I gather up my clothes and walk past Enji to the space where I keep my clothes. Picking up my charger and pillow I move to the door but I'm pulled back against his chest.

"Just listen"

Nodding I stare at the door waiting for him to talk.

"My crush on you...it began a year after we were friends. At first I didn't wanna believe that I liked you so I just let it go. But when my parents took me out of school I was sadder than I thought I was going to be."

His grip around me tightens a bit, "So when I came back to tell you what the situation was, I was also going to tell you that I had a crush on you. But clearly that didn't happen. I was happy to see you but I had pissed you off so telling you I liked you wasn't at the right time."

I sigh and drop my pillow and charger on the ground so I can hold his arm.

"Then eight months later I see you again and you've grown, you were pretty before but it was like a smack to the face after I saw you. My crush had grew stronger. Then I saw the way Yagi looked at you, he liked you too."

He lets go of me and turns me around, "That's why before we left the cabin we made a deal. That we each have a week to spend time with you. And that we do this until finals."

"Did you not consider what I felt about all this?"

He sighs, "Of course we did, we didn't want to force you into anything. We wanted everything to be fair on your part."

Shaking my head I slip out of his hold and back up, "You guys could've done it the normal way! Just spend time with me in general and see how it goes from there!"

Tears gather in my eyes so I cover my face.

"Alina-"

"Just shut up! You two may have possibly ruined our friendship! What if I didn't want a relationship?!"

I lift my face from my hands, "Have you two even thought about that? What if one of you supposedly 'won' but I went after the other what would happen"

Enji tried to form some words but he sighs and stops trying.

"That's what I thought, so fix your shit then we can talk."

I pick up my pillow and charger and walk out of his room to the living room where I slept for the rest of the night. Except I felt like someone was watching me.

Friday

Last day of the week, which I'm very happy about. Dad had called me and said that he found a place where other pro heroes live. It's not like big mansions but like one story houses.

He sent me the location so I floated over and went through the house with him. It was roomy, a big kitchen, which I'm grateful for since I love cooking. A good size backyard, the rooms were bigger than the apartments. Overall it was a nice house, the realtor came over and dad signed the papers saying he had bought the house not rented.

"Alright kiddo, do you have a lot of stuff at Todorokis?"

"No, just clothes, that's the only thing I have over there with him."

He smiles and pulls me into a hug, "Man I bought a house! And it's in a safe area too! Like our neighbor is literally Akuma! Isn't that great?"

Smiling I ruffle his hair, "Maybe I can set you and Akuma up on a date"

He blushes and turns away from me, "No thank you, plus she doesn't even seem interested in me. I'm a single dad with a kid,no one wants that"

I snort and tug on his earlobe, "You never know unless you ask her out. And I'm a teenager I can handle myself."

He sighs before nodding, "Okay, go get your stuff, then we're going out to celebrate later."

I kiss his cheek before shifting and floating off.

It took me about 20 minutes to get back to Enji's, had some traffic. Which was the wind, it was hard to deal with.

Shifting back I land on the window seal and roll into his room. Jumping onto my feet I turn the light on and start gathering my belongings.

Suddenly the door is slammed open and in walks Enji. Who's uniform is scorched, face scratched up and bruised knuckles. I look at him with concern, "Is everything ok?"

He drops his bags on the ground and stomps into the bathroom then slams the door making me flinch.

After what happened on Monday, we really haven't talked. There were some words exchanged but not like full conversations. I guess he didn't care for our friendship cause I'm giving him a chance to sort it out but all he's done is give me the cold shoulder. But he isn't the only one who is giving me the cold shoulder, Yagi as well. I walked up to him on Tuesday and went off. He claimed different things from Enji so I don't know who to believe now.

I get down on my knees and finish packing up my last bag. The bathroom door opens and hot air flows out. Steam shower.

"Alina"

Not looking away from my bag, "Hmm"

"Can you help me patch this up?"

Glancing over my shoulder I expect to fix a shirt but instead I see Enji's arm bleeding.

"Holy shit" I jump up from my spot.

I go past him to his bathroom and grab his first aid kit. Opening it up I walk out the bathroom and make Enji sit on the bed while I get everything out.

"What'd you do?"

I grab the disinfectant wipes and clean up the blood around the wound.

"Haha just some sparring"

I shake my head before grabbing some swabs and putting pressure on the wound to make it stop bleeding. He hisses from pain and grabs my hip.

"You're a horrible liar"
