"WHY have you woken us from our slumber?!" The tenth card, Il Dio, asked as his card glowed a pale white.

"My dear, you should be grateful we've been let out of the grimy box." The ninth card, La Dea, argued back as some of the other cards sneared.

"This is amazing..." Satira mumbled.

"Quelli Dimenticati, we have brought you so that you may be used once again."

"Have you found us hosts?"

"We will, but until then, I beg you to be patient." Jolly answered.

"We have waited this long. What's the harm in waiting a bit longer?"

The tenth card turned slightly toward Claudio before they all returned to the box and shut it.

"Are we making more homonculi?" Satira asked.

"Seems the best course of action until we know if they're safe enough for human contracts," Claudio answered.

"Well, that is all for today. You two may retire." Jolly said and the two stepped out, Satira grabbing the vial of ointment on the way.

"Those cards were truly amazing," Claudio sighed.

"Truly. What tarroco have you contracted with?"

"Eh, the three of wands." Claudio groaned. "I heard from Jolly about your... predicament. I'm sorry."

"Thank you." Satira said as she walked with him back to the dining room.

"Well, I should be going. I predict I'll be seeing you sooner rather than later."

Satira smiled as they parted ways and she slunk back into the room. Debito and Pace were the last ones there.

"Where'd everyone go?" Satira asked as she sat at the end of the table.

"They went to do their job. We have been waiting for you." Debito hissed.

"Why do insist on liking him, Sati? Don't you remember what he did to us?!" Pace argued. Satira jumped in her skin. Pace angry and Pace happy were two different things.

"I just do, ok. I can't explain."

"You can't, or you won't."

"More like it's a long ass story that I don't want to involve you two in." Satira crossed her arms.

"...Did you guys screw?" Debito sneared.

"THE FUCK?! DEBITO, NO!" Satira yelled, her face turning dark red.

"It's fine if you don't want to tell us now, but the truth will come out sooner or later." Pace got up and was about to leave but he paused before the door. "I wish you could trust us enough to just tell us." Pace opened the door and left the room.

"Alone again, tesoro." Debito grumbled.

"Not you, too. Come on, Debi."

"Until you tell us why, we have no other choice but to continue questioning your decision to like him," Debito got up, putting his hands in his pockets and exiting the room.

Satira sat there, alone, and put her head in her hands. Tears leaked out from the cracks between her fingers.

Damn you, La Sacerdotessa

"SOON, men, the cards will be mine!" The man chuckled, followed by his subordinates.

A red symbol blazed on the man's tongue.

He had been touched by Il Diavolo.
