When I was in 1st grade, i had just moved from another school. compared to my old school, my new school was less culturally diverse, and didnt have many eastern asians to relate to. because of this, i stood out like a sore thumb. i looked different, i had different food, and wasnt completely fluent in english yet, having spoken only korean up until kindergarten. who knew school could suck in the 1st grade.
in our class, we were seated based on our last names in alphabetical order. because of this, i was seated next to someone who wasnt the best person. lets call her Luna. luna was a bitch. she'd hog the jumpropes and made fun of anyone who liked justin bieber, even though she listened to him as well. not many people liked her, but didnt say much because to our 1st grade eyes, she was a scary bully. during math time, we got worksheets to work on with our partner. on the back of these worksheets were mini board games to play with said partner. i was a very competitive little kid, so i really wanted to win these now-insignificant games. however, being the bully she was, luna cheated. no matter how many times i told her to stop, my words werent heard. i was devastated. on many occasions, i told my teacher, as they advise you should, but to no avail. all luna would get was a "dont cheat", and nothing more. hell, i wouldve been fine with just moving seats away from her. thanks teach.
