It was your very first date with Arthur. You had met him at pogos when you were the only one that laughed at his jokes. The man immediately caught your attention, sending never ending butterflies to your stomach. Oh What a happy girl you were, but tonight you were ecstatic.

Arthur was a timid man but he had a very good sense of fashion. You wanted the night to be perfect so you had this whole idea of matching with him. Since you lived in a rather small apartment, the closet was cramped so you didn't have enough room for outfits. You didn't have enough room for anything, with bills so high it's not like you would need the space anyways.

So there wasn't that much to choose from, besides this beautiful black gown Y/F/N got for You. It fit perfectly at the time but you haven't worn it in forever! Nothing to wear. Nothing at all. You frowned and let out a disappointed sigh. You zoned out and your thoughts collapsed onto you.

'Knock, Knock.' Was that your imagination or is Arthur here and you aren't ready!? You cleared your throat and gulped. "W-who is it?" A shy stutter came out.

"Don't tell me you forgot our date?" It was Arthur. You weren't ready AT ALL. You wanted to buy some time but you couldn't leave him just standing outside. With a towel around your waist, your hair in a messy bun, and your makeup freshly done you opened the door. There he was holding out flowers that looked like they were picked just for you.

You couldn't help but to smile. He picked them for you. A big grin grew on his face as he looked at you with adoring eyes. "You look-" Arthur started to say but you interrupted him. "I'm a mess I know.. I'm sorry I really am." You looked down with a frown and a sad expressed overwhelming your features.

Arthur felt insecure. One of his many weaknesses was eye contact. If you weren't looking at him, he thought something was wrong with him. He couldn't help it, he was treated awful his whole life. Rejected by Sophie, and god knows how many other girls. Arthur was a damaged man and you were the glue. You wanted to help him as best as you could and you did, or at least tried.

"No, don't cry it's not you! I promise." A wave of guilt took over and you felt awful, like you did something wrong.

"I'm s-s-sorry y/n" Arthur stuttered shyly. Poor thing always resorted to apologizing even if he did nothing wrong. Arthur handed you the flowers as he offered you a gentle smile. What that smile did to you. It brought butterflies to your stomach. You were so in love with him, he was so in love with you.

Arthur cherished you just as much as you cherished him. "You're smile is so beautiful." Arthur's compliments gave you butterflies. He couldn't help but to think how he got so lucky to be in the presence of a beautiful woman like you. After some reassurance and flirts, you let him inside closing the door ever so gently making sure it wasn't too loud.

His expression lit up as he began to observe your apartment. As he got a better glance Arthur's smile turned into an angry frown. You noticed almost immediately and grew concerned.

"You're one of them.." Arthur finally said after a few huffs. He was trying to calm down, but his anger grew in him. Arthur took a puff of his cigarette and exhaled loudly, causing the smoke to hug around his collar.

"What do you mean.. one of them?" Your body tensed up. Did he just say you are just like society? What a turn off. Just like that, you were angry with him.

"You're rich.. you wouldn't get what it's like to be someone like me. You think that you're superior, but guess what princess? You are just ordinary like me. Ok?"

That's it. You've had enough. "You think just because I keep my apartment clean and tidy means I'm rich!? Are you fucking serious? You were boiling in your own skin.

"I thought that-" He started but you cut him off.

"Thought what? That I was awful, let me tell you this.. I'm not awful. You know what's awful? Killing people. I know it was you who killed those guys on the subway." You said it. You finally said it. You saw how much it affected him.

"They were awful, I had no choice. They beat me up y/n." Tears began to fall. "I thought you were different.." Arthur stormed into the living room and sat on your vintage couch.

Suddenly, you felt a wave of sympathy for him. You made your way over to the couch and offered him a caring smile.

"I'm sorry Arthur, I shouldn't have yelled. You closed your eyes as a tear fell onto his knee. Arthur noticed almost immediately. He began to smile.

"Smiling..?"

A choking laugh came out and you could tell he was in pain. Something was bothering him, however you knew he had pathological laughter.

"I'm going to kill my mom.. She fucking lied to me. Do you know I'm adopted y/n?" Arthurs eyes erupted into tears.

"K-kill your m-mo-mom?" You started stuttering. Rather scared for your own well being if you pissed him off. Fuck.

"Yeah I'm doing it tomorrow, she's in the hospital anyway.." A pride smile shown onto his face as if he was going to enjoy the murder.
