the picnic + sunset

(written in 1st person but in a different way???- kai)

you're walking through your local park. in this case, it's fish creek park. your girlfriend, alexia, is carrying a basket and a blanket. alexia jumps with joy as she finds the perfect spot to set up. she runs over to the opening in the trees and spreads the blanket on the ground. you run over to catch up and hug her from behind. she puts down the basket and turns around. she's a little shorter then you are, by a couple of inches. you pick her up and spin her around, not caring about the world around you. you fall over from being dizzy, but you land perfectly on the blanket. alexia pulls out some freshly cut fruit and feeds it to you. by the end of it, there's pineapple juice all over your face. you wipe it on ur sleeve, and as you do, you shift over more towards alexia. she puts her head on your shoulder, and you kiss her head. you got so lucky, she's the best, you think. you continue eating what she has in her bag, not talking. this moment is too perfect for words. there's chocolate, iced tea, and cupcakes. you finish all the food, and there's half an hour till sunset. you guys decide you want to find a hill for good views. you search for around 10 minutes, and you find the most perfect little hill. you lay down and call alexia over. she lays down, and you put your arm over her. she turns her head sideways, and in her peripheral vision, you can tell shes staring intently at you. in a loving way. you turn your head right as she turns to look away, and you grab her head with your empty hand. you and her kiss, perfect, like always. you could never imagine anything more perfect than this. you love her. you open your mouth to tell her, but its too late. shes already cuddled up in the crevasse of your arm. the sun is just starting to set, so you turn your head back to the pink sky. you wished this moment would last forever, but you know it'll have to end at some point. as if alexia can read your mind she says, "i wish this moment would never end."

after about 30 minutes of just sitting there cuddling, you finally get up as it's starting to get dark. that night could not have been any better.
