-Izumi's POV-

A few days later...

When the weekend finally came I was excited. No more people, no more work, no more school! It was amazing of course! That was until the others showed up at my house.

"Oi! Zumi! Open the fucking door already!" Kacchan shouted. I groaned and opened the door.

"You're lucky my mums at work or she would kill you for swearing," I moaned as I looked at the insomniac and pomeranian.

"Shutup, you promised you'd help us clean up the beach for training!" Kacchan yelled. I sighed.

"I want to sleep though!" I whined as Shinso rolled his eyes.

"So do I, Kacchan woke me up hours ago, but we have to train so come on!"  the porcupine complained. They both dragged me out of my comfy home and down to the beach.

When we arrived I was happy to find that there were so many shadows, which made my job easier.

"Oh and no using our quirks, ok Zumi?" Shinso said. I sighed.

"Fine," I moaned.

We got to work fast, within a few hours we were all exhausted and cleaned roughly 1% of the area.

"Let's see, one per cent in three hours means that its seven per cent a week, so that's twenty-eight per cent a month, fifty-six, eighty-four plus sixteen... that's three months and sixteen days! Should take us a third of the time left until the entrance exams!" I declared.

''What will we do after that then?" Shinso asked.

"We train more you idiot! We should practice landings, start with jumping off small roofs or something!" Kacchan shouted. I rolled my eyes.

"C'mon, I know a great cafe we can go to!" it was my turn to drag my friends somewhere.

"Hey, those are the three kids from the sludge villain attack!"

"Yeah, they're called The Underground's right?"

"The boys are so hot! Such a lucky girl she is!"

"Isn't the girls quirk something to do with shadows? That's pretty villainous!"

"The purple-haired boy can brainwash people too! Those are both really villainous quirks!"

"Who cares about their quirks! It's their intentions that count! They'll be great hero's just you see!"

One person amongst the crowd yelled out. I was embarrassed by all the attention but kept my confident persona.

I wish I hadn't told Tamaki about that

I sighed as we arrived at the cafe. I saw another swarm of girls but this time there were 3 people at the centre and boys were in the swarm too. Yet again they were all from our school.

"Not this again..." I sighed. Shinso raised an eyebrow but I ignored him. "Kacchan..."

"On it," He simply stated.

"OI, EXTRA'S FUCKING SCRAM BEFORE I EXPLODE YOUR ASSES OUT OF HERE!" Kacchan screamed at the group. They screamed before running out of the cafe. Kacchan coughed into his fist. I smacked him on the back of the head.

"You didn't have to be so rude, Kacchan!" I scolded him. Shinso was already ordering for us as we looked over and saw the big three.

"Oh hey, Tamaki!" I said as we walked to them. Tamaki's face went red. Nejire smiled and waved and Mirio smiled as well.

"So you two know each other?" Nejire asked. I smiled.

"Oh yeah, let's just say he was getting crowded by fangirls and I got rid of them," I answer.

"Y-yeah," Tamaki mumbled, his face redder.

"So you're planning on going to UA? I saw you three on the news! Great job with the slime villain!" Mirio exclaimed. Shinso was coming over with our food so we sat a table together, all 6 of us.

"Yeah, but my quirk won't do good against the robots so I'm also applying for general studies, that way I can get into the hero course after the sports festival," Shinso explained.

"That's great!" Nejire said. That's when I felt something was wrong. My eyes widened as an image flashed in my mind and I barely had enough time to shove everyone down before bullets flew over our heads.

"Shit," I mutter as more continue. I nod to Kacchan who understands. I place my hand into the shadows under the table, they turn pitch black and my hand goes in. I put a finger to my lip before the others protest. I disappear into the shadows.

-??? POV-

As the girl disappears into the shadows I nod to the other guys. They press a button that turns off all the lights. I smile when I see the shocked expressions of the teens inside the cafe.

They have no idea

I smile at that fact. No one but me and my partner knows what's going on. That's why he sent me here with only some pawns. Of course, he isn't really my partner, more of an accomplice.

Five to the right, five to the left

I smile as the pawns spread out on either side. I know the girl will have to show herself soon. I'm guessing her quirk gets harder to control the darker it is, either that or purely at night. Did it matter though? No, not really. I was meant to either kill the girl or recruit her and her friends.

I made a promise

My accomplice had said she was dangerous to the villains, but that didn't matter to me, no I had a promise to keep, so I would keep it.

"I have the girl, tell me when there's an opening for her friends," The voice came over his com. To keep the promise I had to cash in a favour with an old friend, he was more than happy to comply after watching the news though.

I looked at the kids, none of them seemed scared.

"The sparrow flies south for the winter," I said into the com and a red and grey blur grabbed the two younger kids.

"Did you really just quote Skulduggery Pleasant?"
