(This chapter is that more focused on Mary and her sharing her inventing talents. Mary is my OC by the way if anyone has already figured it out by this point)
After finishing their satisfying breakfast, Mary laid back on the grass that was soft at the touch with her vision straight up and the marvelous blue morning sky. The other two adults were still sitting straight up where they were. There was a still silence for a moment there until Sam decided to break it up by suddenly speaking, "So..what should we do now." He directed his question toward his fellow friend to see what his thoughts were. "I believe that it would be best to move on. We do still have to go find your mother." Sam then remember the main purpose as to what lead them to travel this far off. He pulled out the egg carton from his hat that he still held onto since the eggs tasted surprisingly very familiar to him. It brought him back to such a vague and yet nostalgic memory of his very own mother that still had many unanswered questions about her. "Hopefully we get to see her soon." Sam said in a lower tone than before. "It's been years really." Guy in return showed support to his friend. "I'm sure we'll get to see her and for you to know so much more about her." Sam felt motivated and comforted by those words. He had always felt that sort of feeling around Guy although at the time he really didn't think much about it.
Mary got up on her feet and stared her direction toward both of the two adults that she was with. She seemed to be very eager to do something and of course that's what she proceeded to ask afterwards. She asked questioningly, "What are we going to do now?" Mary knew of their purpose of travel but was curious as to if they particularly had something in mind already. "We should be best heading now." Guy told her. Something within her led her to have the idea to create a more unique and interesting way to get moving faster. That was when she chipped in "How about I invent us a way for us to travel faster?" Guy remembered her saying that she was an inventor but never really getting to see her in action. "Ooh, love to see that!" Sam said excitedly almost jumping up and down. He nudged Guy's elbow in a playful manner, "Guess you not the only genius here." He then giggled. Mary was more than eager to show her new friends her amazing talent of inventing. She rushed back to the tree to see where Sam left her small briefcase last night. There it was laying on one of the sides of the humongous tree and so she took it and went back to where the others were.
"Inside this special suitcase I got everything I need to build anything!" Mary started pulling many things out of the suitcase and what eventually led to have both Sam and Guy to be surprised by how much it was able to hold. "I fixed it so it can hold a bunch of stuff. Cool huh?" It was 'cool' to a certain degree to the both of them. Guy then became more interested in what this little girl could actually be capable of. After pulling out all of the basic necessary items that she needed, that was when the true magic began happening. The wonderful way she put all the gears, bolts, and parts together stunned Guy. He could tell that this little girl knew so much and was of course much smarter than any other he previously knew. He witnessed every single move she did and the process of her creating something entirely new. That was when Guy started to feel a bit more embarrassed that someone far younger than him can be better at something that he his entire life had been doing up till this point in his adulthood. However, there was something quite unique that had been starting to develop within him and especially now in seeing how wonderful she was apart from her positive and sweet personality. It made him wonder in a way why she would be alone and if something made her be away from where she originally came from to begin with. He would soon eventually learn more about her more personally but for right now, he was only left to wonder so many.
After some long time and then adding some finishing touches, Mary was then finally able to show her final product and her new invention to her friends. "Alright then," she announced proudly "here's my new invention!" It seemed to be more of a hot air balloon type of house that could float. That was surprising and interesting and new but seemed to be one worth trying out. "I've kinda always wanted to ride in a balloon and I thought maybe we could do that on our trip so we can go faster." Sam then put on his full motivation and support face and then started to cheer for the little girl genius. "Wow!...That is amazing! Truly spectacular! My, you really are a genius there!" Mary blushed from all the praise she was getting. "Aw thank you so much!" Guy would admit, he did begin to feel a bit of jealousy from a little girl that can have a more higher acknowledgement than his own. His inventions were all great in concept but all seemed to ultimately fail. Although he did have yet to see what this girl's would be capable of and if it could prove itself to be very much durable as well. "Should we test it out?" Mary asked politely. The other two agreed and made their way into the new flying machine.
The house was round in shape and small but enough to fit everyone inside. Inside was empty but was soon filled with their belongings when they got on. The rest was that similar to a hot air balloon in itself and was durable and stable to carry all that weight. "I had this planned a while back so that's why I had most of the parts already prebuilt. I just put all of them together in the end so it was easier." Mary explained to Guy. Guy then responded "You're much smarter than I thought you were." "And I bet you're just as smart too!" Mary added in as a positive note. She previously had known by a claim made by Sam before that he was an inventor. That was something that had really had her interested in knowing more about him in terms of his skill and who he was. Since inventing had become a true passion for her young and brilliant mind, she almost immediately seemed to light up whenever there was a sense of creativity for the innovation of creating new things. Personally, she wanted to learn more from Guy in hoping that she could be a better and greater inventor like Sam boasted about. Her inner self was full of wonder and was of course bound to find something new and bold for someone her age. Guy admired that pure nobleness of hers and chuckled. "As inventors you and I, we both share something unique."
The machine soon set off in flight high above the ground and into the late afternoon skies. The duration of the construction in the making of the interesting new innovation did take it's time to full completion. But Mary proved herself to be a hard worker and a more dedicated one to say the least. In the end, it was finally put to full use and proving to be a marvelous success. They now had at least a place to travel and stay in during their journey and probably a more surprisingly effective way in doing so. Over the rich and and greenest of grass they flew over and the fuzziest of trees also. With an amazing view of the world around them, there would be so much of which they could contemplate. This journey could be a long one, but now at least they have each other and their new hot air balloon mini house.
