Upon the next day arising with all its glorious morning colors that painted the wide landscape before them, the two slept peacefully snuggled together for protection. The night before was tiresome therefore they were much in need of some rest. While they still lay in slumber, the other friend was already wide awake. A familiar smell started to arise and trail it's way over to the two. Guy was already waking up slowly with then letting out a big yawn. That was when he noticed the smell at first. That smell, it was very familiar to him at first. A smell that he had smelled many times before. What was it? There was no doubt to him that the smell was from a special dish that had always followed him around thus far. That smell being from green eggs and ham. He knew a certain individual who would never turn down for a dish of food like that. He suspected that Sam was awake and already preparing their green eggs and ham breakfast.
Knowing that Mary was still on top of him, he wasn't sure what to do. In either leaving her on the grass to rest some more or carry her with him even though she may end up waking up in the process. He gently placed her down carefully without her noticing. He stopped for a moment to look down at her and smiled a warm smile that he hadn't been doing much of until as of recently. The gloomy face of once despair light up almost instantly by the mere glance of such pure beauty and innocence of a wonderful little girl. He turned and soon began to follow the smell, the smell leading him to the other opposite side of the tree. There he saw a yellow friendly being topped with a glowing bright red hat cooking what seemed to be breakfast. The other travel companion looked to be very concentrated in their meal preparation with a wide warm smile of pleasure on his face. But somehow he was still able to notice Guy coming up close to him. The friendly being turned around for a moment still wearing that smile, "Rise and shine sleepy head!" he proudly announced. "The same to you Sam." Guy responded.
"Hope you don't mind me making something extra special for us both." Sam said with an excited smirk on his face. Guy then realized that his partner only referred to just him and of course his friend. He then thought of little Mary right then at the moment. "What about the girl?" Sam soon then finally remembered, "Ooh yeah..Mary! Cute ain't she?" Guy did admit that she was indeed very adorable and it was without a doubt. "Well, she is just a little girl and we can't just leave her by herself alone." Sam was getting a sense that there might be something special happening between the two. "She did seem to be very attached to you the entire time. I bet she loves you!" Guy scratched the fur that was at the back of his head while lowering his head a bit looking down at the ground. "I suppose maybe." Guy said. "I wonder what a girl like her would be wandering by herself this far." Sam included "Same for us too Guy." The breakfast was ready then. Sam looked back at his cooking and grinned. "The food's ready! Ya' know what? I'm also gonna make some for Mary too. I forgot to ask her yesterday if she liked green eggs and ham but hopefully she will!" Sam happily set their breakfast picnic up ready for them all to enjoy.
What they didn't expect was a small one slowly creeping up behind them; Mary. She had barely wakened up from a long sleep and was still trying to fully open her eyes yet. A small yawn was let out and her left hand was rubbing left eye. As she walked toward them, she saw the two individuals that accepted her and let her into their group. Once she was right next to them, she began to speak still with a bit of sleepiness in her voice "Good morning.." Guy and Sam noticed and saw her. "I smelled something new and weird over here." Sam jumped right into action with that and enthusiastically replied with a chuckle, "That's my green eggs and ham breakfast that I made for all of us, including you!" Mary never actually tried green eggs and ham before and was therefore curious as to what it actually was like. She then looked over to Sam and said "I've never tried green eggs and ham." "Try it!" said Sam "You'll be sure to love it!" Mary then sat down next to the picnic cloth and saw before her the source of the new and peculiar smell. The ham steamed with a rich smell alongside the green eggs that looked more greener than ever. Mary stared at them in amazement for it did look quite appealing to her.
Everyone else sat down to enjoy the delicious breakfast that was right in front of them. Guy sat beside her on the adjacent side of where she was sitting. Sam was sitting on the other side from them but was more than eager to start digging in even by judging the expression on his face that made it even more obvious. "Let's start eating!" Sam proclaimed. They then began to eat and curious little Mary started to poke into her new food that she truly wondered what it tasted like. She cut off a small piece of both the green egg and the ham and then placed it right in her mouth. After gulping down the portion of food, the new and exciting taste began to become much more defined to her and to her pleasant surprise, she ended up loving that green eggs and ham. Sam could sense her joy after taking in that bite. "So,...what did ya' think?" he asked her. She smiled brightly toward Sam and answered "I love it! This is the best breakfast I've ever had!" He then chuckled in pleasure. "You like green eggs and ham now?" Sam once again asked. "I do!" Mary said with much glee. "I love them!" She then proceeded to consume more and more of the food and enjoy her delicious meal.
Guy paused a minute in his food to see how happy she was in trying something new. As a matter of fact, they were all happy even with just enjoying a simple breakfast of only green eggs and ham. The calm atmosphere that surrounded them with the true pure beauty of nature gave it all the right touches to the current mood. Their journey still would go further to who knows where as of now, it all in reality would become something worth telling a grand story about.
