"Voop!"
The watch swallowed me. In a strange way; a way that hadn't even given me a chance to understand what was going on.
And now, we were here. Locked up.
+ + + + + +
"Vsh rat-tat-tat."
We all looked up, both tired and hungry.
Still the same day, by the way, but we were all hungry.
Then, as expected from the footsteps, two blue men appeared.
"Rasp-jap-tap?" asked the one on the left as he stretched his hand to the bars.
"Washa bat abat," the other one said, as he folded his hands.
The bars crackled and the blue guy pushed the door inward. No one moved. No one said anything. Well, except for my stomach.
"Hungry, eh?" the blue guy muttered almost shyly as he smiled.
We didn't know what to say. Were we to be happy?
"Yes," Aileen said. "In fact, it would help if you'd get us outta here."
"Indeed, indeed," he said, still smiling. The other guy whistled and he turned.
"So they're from Earth?" he asked. My smile broadened. Freedom at last.
"They are," the guy muttered.
The other guy walked in, saying, "Ah, good friends of mine."
To my left, I saw the strangest expression of Paul. He looked confused, afraid and happy.
He reached to our backs and released the things, and one by one, until we could all comfortably, stand to shake his hand.
"Well," he said smiling. "I hope my shaky accent doesn't deter you or all. My English's a little rusty; I haven't spoken that language for a long time."
"Um... Thanks," Aileen said.
"I am the king of the blue people you see here. We're blue, and we have a little line here," he said. "Well, that is, if can see it, hehe."
His laugh was kind of majestic too.
"So I am Bate; Bate Miraculous," he went on. "But... But, you can call me Bate. Because I am Bate Miraculous, and you know that."
I raised my eyebrow a little.
"So I, Bate Miraculous, respect you citizens of Earth and your snazzy English. What's it called? Slang? Hehe."
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Bate," Aileen said. Why was she being so kind to him?
"Okay, so I'll grab you something to eat and you can go. I'll grant you an Express ticket, and you can all go home after this," he said. "Isn't that okay?"
"Yep." We all said in uniform. Well, all of us apart from Paul.
"What's wrong with this fella?" he asked.
"Um... Nothing," Paul answered, shivering.
"The temperature's too cold here, isn't it?" he said. "A little cold, but isn't it like Earth... on normal days? At least, that was what my father said while he was in Area 51... And, whatever my father loved is whatever I love and believe."
"That's good to know," Aileen said.
And the man smiled. "You're a smart Homosapien, I'll give you that."
"Thanks," Aileen said, and he threw her arm across her shoulder.
"C'mon. You have a glorious meal ahead of ya."
