The air finally hit my face. I can breath again. It felt like forever. Every year I could hear people, victims, dive into the water. But they never got so far down. It doesn't matter. I'm free from the water. But not these chains. they were digging into my wrists and were getting caught on everything. It was starting to piss me off, but still, it's good to be free from the trench. It felt like I've been underwater for decades. Drowning over and over and unable to free myself was the worst experience.

"Ben? Where have you been? We've been looking for you for three years." A voice said before Jeff appeared from the trees.

"I've been drowning. Last night was that stupid dive. I woke up the second I heard them pierce the water's surface, and as usual, I tried to free myself. I gave up. I was going to die again. But then I felt the water around me change. I didn't have enough strength to open my eyes much, but I felt someone put their hand near my wrist. Clearly checking for a pulse. The last thing I saw was someone vigorously pulling at the chains. Thrashing side to side. " I explained. Jeff stared at me confused.

"I woke up to see that the chains were out of the rocks and looked up to see who freed me. She obviously believed that I was dead and started swimming back up to the surface." I added. Jeff grew more interested in the story. He started walking towards the mansion while I followed.

"Did you kill her?" He asked. Somehow, I knew he would ask that question.

"I was intending to, but then I realized that if it wasn't for her, I would be down there still suffering." I replied. I could tell that Jeff was disappointed.

"You let her go." He said as we walked further into the woods. I shrugged my shoulders.

"She wasn't going to make it. I was close enough, so I used a chain and it wrapped around her legs." I stated before Jeff looked at me with a confused expression.

"So you did kill her." He said while opening the gate before I rolled my eyes.

"No. I pulled her down to me and gave her all the air I had left. I drowned several more times before finally reaching the shore." I replied. Jeff stopped and looked at me as his hand rested on the doorknob.

"You    kissed her?" He said. I was a little irritated from his response.

"No. I spared her life. I owed her one." I said as we walked into the mansion before I was greeted by the other creepypastas. It felt good to be back. Jack managed to free my wrists from the chains. I'm finally free from hell, but I couldn't stop thinking about the girl that helped pull me out.

"Ben there's still some time left today. You should get back into things.    Get a couple kills." Masky said before grabbing his knife. Several others followed him outside to hunt for victims. I decided to just stay home. Maybe go online and find possible victims there.

Practice was over. I knew that my coach was disappointed. I didn't perform as good as I normally do. She doesn't know why, but my teammates do. Everyone that went to the Scarlet Dive knows that I made it to the bottom of the trench. Obviously every bit of me is sore. But the fear is still there. Knowing what is in the trench and the fact that the drain leads to the river doesn't help. My team wanted to know how I made it down and back so I made up a story so that they would stop asking. I took my time walking home. I refuse to cross the bridge alone. If no one's around, then I either take the long away around or call someone to pick me up. My heart started racing as the bridge came into view. I froze before my feet could step onto the bridge. I refused to look at the water. I waited several minutes to see if someone would cross the bridge. No luck. I sighed in disappointment before calling Alyssa. She'll be here in about ten minutes.  Hopefully less.    I sat down on a stump waiting for her. Almost five minutes went by and games weren't helping me pass the time. I sighed before searching for an online group chat. I know of one that my classmates go on. I probably won't say anything, but it'd be nice to see what my peers are up to. Most of the conversations were just funny pictures, people roasting each other, or talk about the Scarlet Dive.

"You look bored Y/n." A voice said making me turn my phone off and frantically stand up. My eyes subconsciously narrowed at the sight of Nolan.

"What does it matter to you?" I said while looking away. I could hear him stepping closer.

"This is the second time I've seen you standing around waiting by the bridge. You took the long way around to get to the school this morning. You scared of crossing the bridge or something?" He said as he stood next to me. It was kind of creepy realizing that he's been watching me.

"Go away." I said before stepping away from him. He shrugged his shoulders and stayed where he was.

"Are you?" He asked again making me roll my eyes. Why can't he just leave me alone?

"You already know the answer Nolan." I replied as I sat down on the ground. Nolan looked at the bridge and back at me.

"I can walk you over th-" He said before I interrupted him. Absolutely no way in hell.

"No." I said. Nolan seemed offended from me declining his offer. He knows that I don't like him. Why is he even trying to have a conversation with me?

"So you're just going to stay the night by this stump?" He said while smiling a little. He's seriously trying to be funny. It's just pissing me off.

"I'm waiting for a friend to pick me up. Your services are not needed or wanted." I replied before checking the time. Alyssa should be here soon.   I hope.

"Now leave me alone." I finished before the atmosphere around us became awkward silence. He finally decided to shut up. My spirits rose at the sight of Alyssa's car. I immediately got up and rushed to the door. Alyssa looked at Nolan before turning around.

"What's his problem?" She said as she drove across the bridge. I looked in the mirror to see Nolan's triggered face.

"He was trying to have a conversation. Offered to walk me across the bridge.     I said no." I explained while trying find a good radio station. Alyssa's face grew more confused. She was quiet for a while trying to process everything.

"He should know that you don't like him. Why does he even try?" She asked before pulling into my driveway. I shrugged my shoulders before getting out.

"Thanks for the ride." I said before going into my house and straight into my room. I was bored and sore. I'm not in the mood to move around for the rest of the day, so I took my phone out and got back on the chat. It was still the same topics. I looked at a few pictures and enjoyed some of the humor. My mind suddenly changed from somewhat entertained to confused.
