"I      I'm sorry." I whispered as I froze at the bridge. I felt Alex grab my hand.

"It's ok Y/n. I'll be right here." He replied. He didn't start walking across the bridge until I started walking. I've never felt so stiff before. The temptation to bolt was rising with each step, but I would end up dragging Alex across the bridge with me for sure. I wanted to cry from the overwhelming fear. The sound of the river hitting the bridge caught me off guard making me run, but to my surprise, Alex ran with me. He was able to keep up with my pace. I felt my fear fade away as we crossed the bridge and continued running together. I found myself laughing as we continued to run. Alex's laughter joined mine shortly after. There was even a moment where he was running faster than me. We eventually stopped at the park to catch our breath.

"Thanks for the help." I said. Alex smiled and nodded his head as we sat down. We were quiet for a moment before I grew curious.

"Alex, there's a game that practically everyone is playing right now. I play it every now and then, but I was curious, is your username BenD by chance?" I asked. Alex looked at me confused before shaking his head.

"I don't have an account. Thought about it but never set one up." He replied. It makes sense that he's not BenD. It's been mentioned several times that BenD is not in our school.

"Why do you ask?" He added.

"Was just curious." I replied. I feel like I'm not truly being honest with him but I don't know if it's something I'd want to put on his shoulders. Besides, I have other things to process and overcome right now.

"Y/n, are you ok?" He asked pulling me out of my trance. I sighed and looked at him.

"It's just the whole Jade moving away tomorrow. She's officially graduated from college and has accepted a job offer several states away." I explained. I looked down at the pavement to hide the tears forming in my eyes.

"I'm happy for her, but I might not see her again for a long time. Very long time." I finished before looking at Alex. He smiled a little and put his hand on my shoulder. He was quiet for a moment to probably try and collect his words.

"You might not see Jade for a while, but it's not the end of your friendship. You have each other's numbers so you two can stay in touch at least." He replied. I smiled from his reassurance.

"That's true. I'm planning on seeing her later today to get her address. To send her letters and not get lost when I visit her." My comment was then followed by the two of us laughing. Alex checked his phone before standing.

"I need to head home. The reptile club is gathering at my place." He stated as he put his phone back in his pocket. The reptile club seems interesting, but I'm not truly sure if I would join it.

"Does the reptile club have any pets or a mascot?" I asked before Alex shook his head.

"Not yet. We're planning on getting one though." He replied. I smiled at the thought of the club having one.

"When the club gets one I'd love to see it." I added. Honestly, I know just where to get one. I just hope he'll like it.

"I'll let you know. I'll see you later today." He finished.

"Alright. Alex?" I said before standing up. I smiled and hugged him and he wrapped his arms around me.

"Thanks again." I said before we separated and parted ways. I know I say it over and over, but him willingly helping me cross the bridge over liquid death before and after every practice means a lot. I smiled as I turned the corner towards Jade's house. I knocked on her door but there was no one answering. Her car is here so she's obviously home. I knocked again and yelled at the door for her. I heard a muffled voice inside. I grew concerned and tried to open the door.  Locked. I sighed as I grabbed the key hiding under the flowers in the pot before unlocking the door and stepping inside.

"Oh god. God please no." A weeping voice said quietly in the computer room. Was Jade talking to someone? Are they going to hurt her?

"For fuck's sake Jade pull yourself together. You're seeing things it's     it's not real. It's not real. It's just a glitch.  Just    just a glitch." She mumbled clearly frustrated and nervous. I walked towards the room. I was confused and nervous. My heart jumped when she started screaming. I ran into the room immediately.

"Y/n please help me!" She yelled as her computer screen leaked blood and glitched vigorously. I didn't truly know what to do so I grabbed her hand and we ran to the door. Jade rushed out and I was just behind her, but suddenly something yanked me back by my wrist into the room.

"Y/n!!" Jade screamed as I fell onto the office floor. I could feel my heart pounding, trying to get to safety even if my body was left behind. I heard the doors slam shut and looked to see there were chains wrapped around the knobs in a tangled knot. I turned back to the screen    to see a pair of glitching red eyes.
