30 day challenges are a thing, right?
But 30 day challenges that are just like "what's your favourite character/episode/ship from that one fandom you like?" are REEEEAAAAALLY boring. I suppose if you did an entire one of those a day and then did that for 30 fandoms over 30 days that might be kind of interesting? But they're all so generic! I'm not going to remember to update every day unless the content's flipping interesting.
Alright then, 30 day writing challenge. Let's write a story a day, even if it's only a page on Word, yeah? Wait, hang on, these are just generic, "do the thing" writing prompts for people who aren't used to writing stuff. Have you seen my Wattpad profile? I can do the thing (when I put my mind to it). Try again.
30 day creative writing challenge, that's more like it... wai-, nope, can't use most of these for fanfics. Hmmmm, think, think. Ooh, cute OTP thing. But do I really want to write 30 stories about the same ship? I would be so sick of it if I did that, I'd need to avoid the entire fandom for at least a year to recover from the overexposure. Huh.
What sort of 30 day fanfic writing challenge can I do that won't completely overwhelm me with a single franchise?

.What if my 30 fics had to be written for 30 different franchises? That way I can't be overexposed to any one character, ship, entire cast, canon, setting, time period, style, anything! It's brilliant!!!
Except I'm going to have to create the list of prompts myself. It's fine, I can find writing prompts, that's not a problem, totally doable.
But do I even have 30 fandoms that have enough lore (that I'm aware of) to spark ideas and yet not so much that literally anything I write and at the same time nothing I write could possibly fit into it, I'm looking at you Doctor Who? Eh, I'm sure I'll figure something out.
Writing for an entirely different universe every single day sounds super intense. I might have to spread this over 90 days instead of 30 so my brain stands a chance of processing everything. Yeah, that sounds more reasonable. If you would like to try it for yourself, here's the list of prompts I'll be using. I'm probably not going to do them in this order, I just want to get them all written down in one place so I can keep track of what's going on. (They all came from https://thinkwritten.com/365-creative-writing-prompts/ if you want to check out the full, original descriptions):
1. Food/Picnic - what's for breakfast/lunch/dinner? Or a get together in a café. Or a picnic. As long as there's food.
2. Eye contact - the first meeting of two characters. Who are they to each other? What will they become? Friends? Enemies? Lovers? (This sounds like a good place to introduce an OC without requiring them to actually do much.)
3. Addict - everyone's addicted to something, so what can't your character go without? What happens when withdrawals set in?
4. Cleaning - the big bad spring clean or just the weekly chores. Dishes, laundry, mopping the floor, let's get this place sparkling.
