January, 2019

The start of school. Annoyed groups of girls huddled into the old and so-called 'prestigious' school, eager to feel the warmth of the heaters. A sleep-deprived Tara groggily walked in as a dark aura surrounded her. Shoving past people to her locker, she was about to shut off her phone and place it in her broken locker before she got a message:

Short Waifu (Hail) 7:43 READ

Ay yo, famz I can't come in today, got that virus that's been spreading around ya know.

Lanky Gae (Tara) 8:00

What the hell man. Imma actually die without you here famz. TWT

Even more annoyed, the girl just shoved her coat and bag into her locker before kicking the locker door closed. Walking into the outside world to try and get into the library, the girl immediately bumped into a slightly shorter female. Both of them just fell onto the floor and into one of the most cliche, awkward situations. Tara was with her back to the floor and the other unknown girl was right on top of her.

After a few seconds, or what seemed like forever for them both, the still-mysterious figure finally jumped up and offered a hand. Tara grabbed onto the hand and lifted herself up. Being the clumsy person she was though, Tara almost fell straight back onto the floor. Luckily though, the other caught her in time. The girl propped the black-haired teenager right back up and Hail started muttering a chain of sorry's .

" Calm down, I should be the one who's sorry, I'm the one who wasn't watching where they were going. Let me introduce myself, I'm Wilt Davies and I'm in class S. How about you?" the other said.

"Oh.. urm.. I'm. Tara Robins in class G. I'm sorry as well it probably was my fault too." replied the flustered girl as she casually rubbed her neck.

Both awkwardly stood there for a while before the bell finally went off. Both of them well able to let out a bye as they walked off. Before they realised they were going in the same direction. Luckily, Wilt seemed a lot more chill about the situation and was able to start a conversation.

Tara felt happy as she realised the other girl was into the same things as her so they could have a great conversation. During that time, she was also able to notice the small details of the girl like her rounded glasses, cheeky smile and little dimples.

In a haze, the girl was brought back to reality when she realised that she was at her form door. For the second time, they said goodbye as Tara walked back to her seat. She didn't know why but that awkward chance encounter made her feel a bit better about her day.

Next to her, Tara's friend she had met a few weeks ago in form waved towards her. In a better mood, she walked over and got out a book from her bag. It was going to be a long 7 months before school broke up though...
