Weeks passed, and then months, Ino soon grew closer to the younger Uchiha with the silent agreement that she would keep her infatuation towards him at bay. This made her spend more time around the Uchihas, with Itachi catching glimpses of her. Sometimes, they would share a conversation and those times were the most tranquil moments for him.

Yamanaka Ino, even as a child, understood him. She felt his distress towards his life and his clan yet only comforted him. As time passed, she understood the importance of privacy for him and she respected that. Never asking, she simply talked to the elder Uchiha when she did not play with the younger one.

One day, Itachi had taken Sasuke to train for his shuriken aim. Ino happened to pass by to watch, applauding at the show of Itachi hitting all targets and giggling encouragements at Sasuke as he failed to match up to his older brother. 'It is more than I can do anyway.' she would say.

Later, she joined their target practices, Itachi sometimes focusing more of his time on the Yamanaka heiress before catching himself and going back to giving his pouting brother equal attention. When the sun to set, he brought her home along with Sasuke. He had grown protective of the little blonde angel.

Another day, she had injured herself climbing up a tree to retrieve a kite she and Sasuke had been playing with. She was always a daredevil as a child, reckless and confident.

When she had fallen and sprained her ankle, Sasuke frantically searched for help. Fortunately, Itachi had just gone home from a mission. He immediately rushed to the girl, who held her leg close to her chest, breathing deeply as she tried to relieve herself of the pain. She wasn't crying but he saw her eyes teary when she looked up at him. He felt himself panick. His little angel was hurt.

Itachi quickly yet gently took her to a medic nin within the Uchiha clan who quickly took care of the sprain. Afterwards, he had took her home, handed to her arms of her loving dad as he exclaimed in panic for his princess.

He was about to leave, when she called out for him. "Itachi-kun, stay.." she had pleaded, yet her eyes spoke more for her. Not being able to refuse, he agreed with the consent with her parents. To them, he had become her big brother with how he has protected her.

That night, he tucked the child into bed as she smiled peacefully. He kissed her cheek, wondered how she had captured his fondness before he left through her window, as a shinobi with blank expression as he plunged back into his world full of burden, eyes hard as he thought of his duties.

Basically, this is written in a way that the chapters are oneshots that are linked. So... expect lots of timeskips.

Bear with my grammar mistakes. This book was written through my phone. Enjoy~^^
